Best Music Download Option

I've recently had to FLUSH Kazaa from my system it was creating too many bugs ie: pgmonitr error .....spyware isn't good either?

So, I'm looking for a new 'relaible' music download option...currently I've downloaded WINMX but it seems it's very 'remotely queued' on everything I've attempted. And I've got Optusnet 'rip-off' Cable

I know this 'music download' thread has come up before...but I'm hoping to get new advice.

for the very small downloading I do i use KazaaLite.

The most annoying thing about it, is that every couple of months you have a download a new version. The server sometimes goes down, but apart from that - it kicks

oh how i loved audiogalaxy. it had every rare song from any rare albums out there. thanks for the soulseek link, if its as any good as audiogalaxy was then ill be back on track. thanx a heap because kazaa sux in comparison to audiogalaxy in downloading songs.

I use Kazaa and don't generally have many problems with it. For my experience with it, download speeds are generally a bit better than Napster and WinMX, and it's usually easier to find rare stuff

BUT

lately I've had a lot of people downloading stuff from me, that I didn't even know I had, and certainly never downloaded consciously. Stuff like cracks for games, ICQ Lite, antivirus stuff... I didn't download any of this rubbish and it's not visible in my shared folder. I've deleted everything in that folder that isn't one my incomplete files, so where is this crap coming from and how do I get rid of it?

Kazaa lite is doing a fine job. Thanx ppl for reccommending this 1. No spyware to be wary of.

Is it Kazaa or Kazaa lite you have ?? And when you installed Kazaa, you may have allowed access to other files. That's is usually the case to soaking out your deep oil. You need a clean out ! ......carry on

just one thing to remember if you havepreviously installed kazaa and then removed it. the spyware software and cookies will remain use a program such as windows washer or adaware to get rid of these programs.

then install kazaalite

a couple of suggestions until you have figured out where it's coming from!!

1. change the setting for uploads to 0 - this way no-one can upload from you (not what I'd suggest as a long term thing or no-one will share with anyone! but for this instance, probably a good idea)
2. check your permissions for locations of files to upload - it may be that although you have a single shared folder, you're actually sharing your whole C drive, not just that one folder

On Kazaa Lite, do a software search for a program called "Pest Patrol". It's the best thing since sliced bread. I used to use Adaware, but after downloading PP and running it the first time, it found over 150 spyware components on my system (this after running Adaware on a weekly basis). You can do live updates to download the latest trojan/spyware lists from the server. Do yourself a favour!
