Does anyone here also think that the better player doesn't always win using the current tennis scoring system?

To illustrate my point consider this scoreline:
6-0, 6-7, 6-7

Notice how one player amasses a total of 18 games while the other player only amasses 14 games, yet under the current scoring system, the player who wins 14 games is the victor. We could take this further and look at the individual points within individual games.

In most other sports, the points you amass throughout the entire match are accumulated to give you an aggregate. Tennis is unique because it is the number of sets you win that counts, rather than the total points you win throughout the match.

Do you think the current scoring system adequately reflects the story of the match?

There is nothing wrong with the scoring system. The beauty is that you can put a 0-6 set behind you and focus on the next set.

Maybe the person that loses 6-0 6-7 6-7 needs to address their own pyschology when things get tight.
