Ok so there you go .... no write up because its pointless because Im too far behind. I know its only round 7 but hey the last leaderboard was round 4 so its an improvement. 4 rounds behind still and Im hoping to get it fully up to date before the Adelaide clash next weekend.

    Few surprises in there though.

I thought Judd would be higher and I did predict he will get this years award, but after all, it is only round 7 here.

Would you have a comparison to this time last year, but be interesting on who may have improved and who has fallen from grace.

I dont have a round 7 comparison....I could dig it up but I cant be bothered but in all honesty I think its obvious where the differences in this years leaderboard to last years leaderboard lie.

Look at guys like Hunter, Morrison and Green. Hardly any votes to speak of which IMO is a good thing. Look at Glass in 7th, Lynch in 8th and Staker in 13th. These are very good signs.

Add to that the prominence of Sampi in 4th! and Nicoski, Brett Jones, Waters and Selwood all on the leaderboard. Obviously you have your usual suspects in dual winner Cuz, Judd and Kerr leading the way. Gardiner is gone for the year and that was certainly a telling blow.

And prominent vote getters from last year and the previous two years in Rowan Jones and Wirrpunda are nowhere to be seen. R.Jones was average two years ago finishing 26th but came on strong last year where he finished in the top 10. This year he has garnered just 3 votes to the half way mark of the season.

Same to be said of Wirrpunda, 2002 saw him finish 3rd and 2003 was another top 10 finish in 8th. This year he languishes in 20th spot with just 22 votes.

So there is your season in a nutcase, Gardiner is out, the usual suspects are still dominating in Cuz, Judd, Kerr, Fletch, Embers etc, a few stars have gone missing in Jones and Punda and we have the promising youngsters making waves on the leaderboard. That's pretty much our season.

I think us fans usually get it right.
