After one good game against an ordinary FB?

Hardly.

He's certainly starting to show some presence though.

He was providing us with a big target but wasn't too impressed with his butterfingers on a few occasions, good recovies though. Just hope he can bring the goods out against better opponents.

Intimidation always helps . He's getting better all the time .

Is he the new Barryl Hall for WCE ??

Didn't realise there was an old Barry Hall for WCE. Must have been before my time.

Did he line up in the 70's?

That's what worries me about him, doesn't hold enough marks. You can only scrap so many goals.

There really aren't many players on our team who take a lot of contested marks, Gaspar is one of the best contested markers on our team, pity he's never on the field to take them.

I thought he was a standout in terms of a new dimension to your guys fwd line. Seriously!

Lynch doesn't have the hands to be a permanent forward and it seems like in the long term Staker is the preferred CHB.

All Lynch can really do is add value by pinch hitting here and there.

the thing i like about lynchy is that he keeps it pretty simple. he leads straight and always provides a contest (never gets out marked) plus he is a monster kick.

btw, i absolutely rate barry hall to death so i would be stoked if he got close to that level.

i think the future for Lynch will be as a pinch hitter at either end from the bench.

In the short term i think he's our best CHB because of his size. At the moment Staker isn't quite big enough to take on the best CHF's around the country, but in the future (provided he puts on the required bulk - which is slowly doing) i think he's the preferred option for CHB.

For the current season i think our best tall set up is for MacDougall (when he's back) at FF, Gardiner at CHF, Cox in the ruck, Lynch at CHB and Glass at FB. Seaby to play a third tall forward role and reserve ruckman along with periods on the bench. Hunter or B. Jones to take the third tall forward in our defence. The other may or may not be good enough to be in the 22. Staker to start on the bench and pinch hit around the ground when various tall's need a rest.

While MacDougall is out injured, i think Lynch (B. Smith would be, but he's out too) is the best option at FF with Staker at CHB, which means both Hunter and B. Jones can fit into the starting 22.

Agree 100%

even though he's not holding his marks i like lynchy at FF. he is providing a presence at FF which we've lacked for a number of seasons. he's big enough to body out opponents and isn't a complete dead weight when the ball hits the turf (see wilo).

Very much agree to the fact that Lynch will be a pinch hitter at either end of the ground coming off the bench. Will be handy down back when we play teams with bigger forward lines, however I dont expect him to be a starter come the home and away season if our other talls are fully fit.

Not the smartest footballer, is very clumsy and cant hold a simple chest mark. The guy has serious butter fingers.

Not very tough for a big guy either. Seems to be scared of getting hurt all the time and therefore doesnt throw his weight around.

I'd agree with that.

He seems to get confused about where to mark the ball - especially if he's on the lead and the ball's coming at him chest height. Seems to want to take it out in front instead of wrapping his arms and chest around the ball. there was a classic example of that on Friday night when he almost dropped the mark by being in two minds.

Haven't seen much evidence of that. Doogs on the other hand.....

Lynch should not be scared to run into a body as he will more often than not come out the better. I think that is why his hands aren't so good, because he is scared of getting a little tap. If he just would play and think like he's chasing after the ball which is laying on the ground then he would come storming out and crash the pack. That's all he needs to do and he will become one of the best FF's.He will be just too strong for his opponents.

Please. Ive seen no such evidence. Lynch in fact seems to relish physical contact and generally being a mean ********

Lynch was very diceplined in the backline last year, where giving away a silly free or losing your feet would cost you a goal. I think this year if he gets a go in the forward line you can expect to see a different Lynch. He will be able to throw his weight around a bit more and I'm pretty sure we are going to see him crack a few skulls out there.
