nah let the kid have another week off.....he would be a certainty for round 1!!

i would assume he will be managed to ensure his young body stands up to the first year rigours!!

Warnock, Scotland played in VFL last week and scotland was due to be named to have a run against Freo.

but Carrots arm brace/cast isnt due off for another week i hear

the bloody Carlton website doesnt update the injury list that often

Stevens has played every NAB cup game, so i'd have thought he'd be due for a rest, plus we need some practice without him to get prepared for round 1.

We shouldn't play anyone in Round one unless they have some practice games under their belts. No Scotland in Round One by the looks of things.

If he misses this week he will have 3 weeks off. He will get the next 2 weeks off. It's a dress rehearsal for Rounds 1-22.

Some of us seem to have very short memory regarding first year players. If not properly managed early in the year they start to run out of steam late in games later in the year so we find teams with better managed fitness run out games better and roll us in the close ones or roll over the top of us. Not in the least surprised Robbo is having a break. Yarran still needs the run having effectively missed 2 of the NAB games. All good, the only suprise for me is no Edwards or Hartlett, I would say that is a pretty loud message from the MC that they are not going to be part of our plans, short term at least. It is gonna take some stand out games at the Bullants for that to change I would say.

Several comments here:

• Edwards future must be in serious doubt. If he couldn't get a run vs Cats ahead of Hampson at FF then its pretty much over.
• Same goes for Pfeiffer. Not even mentioned by Ratts as a potential elevation to nominated rookie and not sighted pre-season. Not sure if he has done something to piss off the coaching staff, but there were some "issues" at the Crows.
• Hartlett is injured.
• No Bentley. Looks like Joseph and Garlett get the nominated rookie spots with Jacobs coming up for Warnock (on the LTI list).
• Robinson seems like the sort of bloke who will throw himself around regardless of what he is told to do. To help preserve him for the season, and for his career, I suspect Ratts will have him in and out of the team a bit this year. Not easy to play such a physical brand of footy as a 19yo.
• Stevens needs the run and as has been pointed out, will miss round 1 anyway so will get his "freshen up" before the season starts for him.
