Breaking News:

BigFooty's The Big Pineapple will be playing his final VAFA game this Saturday at Optus Oval (I knew there was a reason for moving the game, to accomodate the crowd) against Uni Blacks.

The Uni Blacks v. Old Essendon reserves game is likely to be an emotion charged affair, with this 10 game veteran pulling the pin to focus on his off field endeavours including booze, tarts, golf and charity work.

TBP, congratulations on a stellar VAFA career and we all wish you continued success in your other endeavours and expect many more big footy postsin the future.

Thank you for those kind words SMG. It hasn't been an easy decision by any stretch of the imagination however I feel now is the right time to walk away from the game that has served me so well. I will continue to support OEG in an off field capacity however with work, charity and insterstate obligations, giving 100% on the field has become too difficult. Good luck to you all for the rest of the 2006 season.

I must agree Slay Master. Who are you Boz Scaggs?? Your comments are uneducated and ill-informed. The TBP has served OEG with distinction over the last five years and if it hadn't been for his fascination with slaying tarts and the D floor at motel on a Friday night, I could've seen him cutting up the wings at Keilor Hill for many years to come. You will be sorely missed TBP. I will be at the OO for this significant VAFA moment and I encourage the many TBP admirers to get out there and do the same.

A testimonial event will be held.

Your friend Handsome seems to echo my sentiments RE: his football abiltiy so obviously there is some truth in the matter!!!!
Don't know who you are and don't really care. More to life than football and I'm going to actually make something of my life unlike your sad little self. Reality is I've played B grade seniors, 15 games in fact which is not bad given I've played about 40 under 19's and 30 reserve games. I'm no champion but at atleast I got there. Find a life my angry friend and try and make something of yourself instead of bringing people down who actually make a difference in this world.

Perhaps you could headline the testimonial gala, with a rendition of "Riding on the Horses" with Margaret Urlich.
I really enjoyed that film clip, especially when you're running in the shallows and then jump to punch the air, brings a tear to the eye.

For old times sake we should get Luca to organise it upstairs at Motel.

Slithering, I will be doing a new remix version of 'horses' for the Pineapples testimonial. News is that rather than have it at motel, it will take the place of the OEG auction night.

Slay Master - I thank you for your kind words about my efforts in the aforementioned film clip. I do believe it was some of my best work and the young lady in the clip also proved quite accomodating.

Tony Stormont = Very angry today

I've known TBP for only i a little time, and haven't followed his career to the extent of others on this forum, but a finer bloke you will struggle to meet.

The Big Pineapple could be renamed The Spirit Of The Amateurs.

Good luck on the weekend, whether that be at Motel, Boutique or any other fine establishment.

Just let me know where and when this testimonial will take place.

I haven't been on this site for a while but to come back and find this post has made me quite distressed!

I've been a good friend of TBP for some time now and we've shared many a moment on the town, whether it be Room, Motel, Boutique or any other fine Melbourne establishment....the kid is all class.

I'll remember the support TBP gave me when I had the shower incident at HQ, and when I too was ready to give the game away only for the lone ranger to get me back on the horse. It was kind of like Ron Burgendy getting back together with the Channel 4 news team, emotional!

I can't make the game but I'll be putting together a doorlist at GPO this weekend.

You never cease to amaze me KR.

I tell you what, with the amount you have contributed to the VAFA social scene there's definitely a guest list with your name on it at the big white gates above.

You're a saint KR, a saint!!!

The only saint I know of is the one in Fitzroy St but I'm sure if I'm on the Great List then you're right next to me!

Mei Chow says hi....

Good luck Pineapple.

Look forward to reading of the standing ovation at Optus Oval in the Amateur Footballer next Thursday.

Also received word that Knight Rider is set to make a big screen comeback next year, rivalling that of the 80's classic hit TV series.

How do you think such professional exploits wll be regarded at VAFA headquarters?

Supergrass, is your real name John? Did you recently sit next to me on a flight from LA to Sydney???

I can't see VAFA having an issue, but Tommy Brain might be unset with not getting the main role. I believe his feral mullet put him in contention for the part.

Word is that TBP isn't the only "pineapple" going missing at Old Essendon now that Flaherty is back.

Happy to take a table at the TBP testimonial. Will there be any TBP memorabilia to buy at said event??? Will there be a taped tribute to TBP from Todd and Brant now that they are free?
