Just bought a ticket to Never Surrender in Osaka, Japan for next year. Any tips on Japan Paul Kersey would be great

Over $400. Wowee as BT would say. But can't wait.

素晴らしい。後で教える。

My mistake, thought it was the Wolftooth one.

Had this song on a few times, but not heard full album yet. What do you make of it?

Wolftooth are also a good recommendation

Poison was the first album by the way lol

Never really a band I had time for but love the first Guns n Roses album. Also listen to a lot of 80s bands like Ratt, Dokken, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister etc. If I'm stuck in a car and it's a choice between Poison or some metalcore shit I know which band I'm listening to.

Cheers. I enjoy biking so looking into bike hire to get around, if you have any tips there. HUBchari, etc?

Haven't been to Japan since covid as too lazy to travel. Never really done any touristy stuff there and always been with Japanese when visited. Looks like the venue is about 30 min train ride from Namba (pretty much the centre of Osaka city). Use the train - easy to navigate in Japan. Osaka trains do not run 24/7. You can use atms in 7/11, international banks and post offices - won't work at Japanese banks. Funnily enough usually work if paying by card at stores but have cash on you. Plenty of places to stay pending budget - just need a clean/quiet room. Do try and go to Marriot hotel viewing deck (or spend a night there). From memory tallest building in Japan and views are insane. I'd fly direct to Osaka and catch bus to city - takes some time. Osaka famous for food so research before you go as need to know where to eat if that's your thing. If lazy you can live off convenience store food in Japan - you'll be shocked. Worth researching what supermarkets are near where you are staying as food selection will be better. Cigarettes and booze gotta be 20 years old and won't be able to buy from vending machine but all convenience stores have them. Adhere to rules with where to smoke if that's your thing. Can drink in public/on train but be normal. Plenty of craft beer venues in Osaka from memory. Most Japanese can't speak English but many of the restaurants in Osaka will have either an English menu or a photo menu. Other than some greetings I'd recommend taking the time to learn how to say things like 'sorry I can't speak Japanese', 'I'm from Australia' and 'do you speak English?'. On some early trips I went out with next to zero Japanese knowledge and carried on in bars to all hours - was generally ok. Never found Osaka to be a city for record shopping and tbh I'd be staying away as those areas will have people from the festival loitering. Not sure if the baseball season is on during the festival but if it is go see the Tigers play. Maybe NJPW or AJPW will have shows on too. No idea about bikes but you'll be able to hire for sure. People love them over there. If thinking of going to Tokyo use the bullet train and then fly home from Narita.

Many thanks for the post. Will keep all that in mind. Will definitely be trying to bike as much as possible to reduce reliance on public transport. Definitely want a more Japanese type experience with a quiet / small hotel than a chain one, so might see about those as well as the Marriot hotel viewing deck. Am sure I'll love the eating there as I do love getting Japanese food as a takeaway (more because it's healthier than Macca's etc). Non-smoker here, thankfully. And learning local phrases in places I visit has been a pretty good thing for me in my experience - locals always appreciate it. Had a great time in places like Hungary and Poland because of how bad I butchered their language, but locals appreciated I gave it a go. Cheers

EDIT: Will have to learn how to use chop sticks before i go. Always make a mess of it.
