Consider their respective lists, who has underperformer more over the last three years.

Geelong or St.Kilda?

Geelong no doubt. Everyone raves on about how good St Kilda's list is, but when you look past the 26th-30th best players, they don't have a lot of depth. Very talented best 22 though.

While Geelong have replacements for injuries. They have about 35 blokes who can have a impact at AFL level.

St Kilda have been fairly successful considering the injuries they have had and back ups that replace them.

Line ball but I went St. Kilda. Probably bias showing but if Geelong had players like Riewoldt, Ball, Gehrig, Del Santo etc I would probably have expected a Grand Final by now. The Saints may still get one however.

Geelong on the other hand have a deeper list but no-one remotley like a star. We have only 1 top five pick (Ottens) and no key froward of note. I think we may have out performed ourselves in 2004 as we were 12-10 last year and 10-10 so far this year. In all honesty without a key forward Geelong are a top 4 side at best. St. Kilda should really be top 2 or 3 IMO.

Gotta go for the Handbag crew. St.Kilda have been ravaged by injuries for the last 3 seasons so they haven't had an legit shot to win the flag. Geelong have hardly had an serious injury to an important player this year and yet still won't make the finals.

Geelong Top 5 Picks Since 2000 - None! Only player only list to be picked in Top 5 is Brad Ottens (#2 1997)

St. Kilda Top 5 Picks Since 2000 - Nick Riewoldt (#1 2000), Justin Kositchzke (#2 2000), Luke Ball (#2 2001), Xavier Clarke (#5 2001), Brendon Goddard (#1 2002). Aaron Fiora (#3 1999) whilst picked by Richmond is also on the list.

If you can't build a team from 5 Top 5 picks in 3 years whilst also poaching good quality footballers such as Aaron Hammill and Fraser Gehrig you should be sacked. It's the 4th year since their last Top 5 Pick so they should at least be contesting for a Grand Final but will not.

You Scarlett and Ablett through F/S though so it's hardly as if you've been hard done by.

well they have been fairly even over the last 3 years but based on this year, geelong

Saints. They have an amazing list of players, yet they cant get them all out on the park and are under achieving.

Geelong arent under-performers, theyre just an ordinary team. When on song, they are a good ordinary team.

No we haven't been hard done by I didn't say that. We just haven't had the chance to rebuild a list so easily as St. Kilda has and furthermore they haven't used it to their advantage we have probably done the best with what we have had at our disposal till this year.
