i fired up strava the other day (free), have recorded a couple of rides with it and a give it a big thumbs up for ease of use.

loads of segments in my area, very interesting to see how fast some people go up hills too

gives me something to aim for.

Also have a garmin 910xt, brilliant. The outlay ain't cheap but covers multiple sports & does everything you could want or need

Also, for apps, it'll link to your strava page with the recorded routes

Anyone using any free or pay Andriod Apps to record routes etc?

Tried free endomondo and it is fairly good.
I've been using Endomondo for close to a year. I like it. Apart from the basics like distance, time, average speed etc that the app provides, the Website gives you your best distance travelled in an hour and also your best 20km, 50km and 100km in time. It will also detail how many kms you've done in a week or a month.

But if yah want to know how well you've climbed up a Mount or how you have performed on any section of road than Strava is your app.

As suggested, when using Strava, yah find that you will push even harder when yah know you're riding on a well known "segment" as your times are compared to others.

I use Strava by downloading the data from my ride via my Garmin. I use the Endomondo app on my phone. Yeah I'm a data junkie. :stern look

Has anybody tried using both apps at the same time? :stern look

Don't post when drunk and/or stoned?
Rocky is Rockingham and my transitions were crap
I need to have a good hard look at myself and get a move on
