Are there many people here who ride bikes?

I have recently put a mountain bike on lay-by. It's a 2003 model Shogun Trailbreaker 3, and I got it put on lay-by in the first week that it was released to the retailer, and immediately got $100 off. I have actually bought it from a store which is managed by ex-Carlton/St.Kilda player Spiro Kourkemelis.

What tracks around Melbourne, or elsewhere, are good to ride around on?

Funny you mention that Stocka i was lookin at bikes on the weekend cos i havent ridden once singe god knows when and i decided i want to buy one and ride it around Princess Park seeing i live so damn close now!! Maybe there, Albert park Lakes a good one, um.... dont really know where else!! ;)

Try the Yarra Trail Stocka. I used to ride it a bit and you can go anywhere from Eltham to Brighton or you can link up with the track that goes along the Mabiyong River.

I get on at Kew @ the Boulevard. Takes you past the Collingwood Children's farm and weaves it way past Richmond, Toorak and into the city.

I brought an Avanti set up last year for about $2 k. Most times when I ride the Yarra Track I would clock up about 27km per day.

It's also a great optic nerve.

Were you looking at bikes at Ray's Bicycles, next to Barkley Square Shopping Centre? That's where I'm getting mine from, and you'd be quite happy to know that an ex-Carlton player runs the store. ;)

Perhaps we could ride around together, BB. I often jog and walk around Princes Park as it is. Royal Park might be a go too.

Cheers, mate. I could probably link up with a lot of those trails fairly easily from where I am, so I'll have to give them a look over summer.

$2k . . . that must be a pretty nice bike! Mine's under $1k - couldn't really justify getting a top notch set-up at this stage.

Sounds like a plan, as long as its freshen up time at Bridies afterward!! ;) I hafta make sure i use it to justify spending all this money on a new beaut bike tho!! Pity you cant blade on gravel, that would save me some $$! And yes, the ex-Carlton player thing helps somewhat!

That's why you need a riding partner to motivate you. We could even stop for a kick on one of the ovals as well!
