Bikie Gangs have been get a lot of bad press out West. This has reach boiling point with the assasination of a retired detective on the weekend by a car bomb, allegedly planted by members of a bikie gang.

Seems like the gov. is thinking about bringing in draconian new laws to try break down the bikies and bring them under heel.

Is the problem as prevalent over east? Anyone know some bikies that they could vouch for?

We had to do a gig in Adelaide a couple of years ago (at Victor Harbour) and we got a phone call from the pub during the day saying that "Bikies have taken over the main room so you'll have to play in the downstairs bar".

We thought it was rubbish and that the pub had screwed up.......until we got there and saw about 500 bikes, a huge truck, and bikies everywhere. They'd even brought their own band with them (hence the truck lol)

We ended up crammed into this little room with about 400 punters. It was an interesting night.

Lucky you did not have to play for them gPhonque. I have images of you arguing like the blues brothers at bob country bunker, "we better find something these guys like".

As long as they played anything by Canned Heat they would have been happy, even to this day the Bikies still love that group.

lol

Seriously though, we didn't know whether we were going to get killed that night, as apparently the bikies had told the pub to "get that other f#cking band out. We don't give a *****. They'd better not be there when we get there."

Another little bikie story - we were on tour again, this time in Rockhampton. We finished the gig and our roadie had the back door of the pub open (which was on a lane) and was putting all the gear into the van. Across the lane though, was a wharehouse which was owned by bikies. (of course. lol)

Now, Bass (our roadie) is pretty well built, and he had his shirt off as it was pretty hot. He'd nearly done all the gear when a door from the wharehouse opened, and 2 bikies walked out. One of them stayed at the door, and the other went over to Bass. The conversation went like this: (i was there)

Big Bikie: "You got a mighty cute body on you boy."

Bass: "err....ah...."

Big Bikie: "Yeah. See my mate over there...." (points to even bigger bikie) "....well, he wants to f#ck you."

Bass: "err.....ahh....oh....CYA!"

And we ***** ourselves, closed the van, and got the f#ck outta there quick smart!

:)

As for your original question, i have no idea, as i only ever seemed to run into bikies when we were on tour. lol

Whoaaaa - thats way too Pulp Fiction for me mate. Combine that with the Canned Heat thing and I'm beginning to wonder about these guys.

While we are on this topic, did any of the WA people ever make the annual trek to the Bindoon Festival?

I can't believe they stopped holding it, what a fantastic weekend that was.:D

I never made it to Bindoon myself Mantis. Mate of mine was a regular though. He seemed to really enjoy it.
