Ok so its my girlfriends birthday sunday week. We have been seeing each other for about 6 months. She's a great girl and very easy going but Ive been struggling with what to get her for her birthday.

Ive kinda broken it down into 2 categories, either romantic or fun.

Ill be taking her out to dinner at her favorite Thai restaurant so IMO that takes care of the romantic rubbish.

We live on the gold coast (not together) and Ive got 3 thoughts so far.. A day Whale-watching which is 100 per head, or a day deep sea fishing which is roughly the same price(I got her into fishing and bought her her very first rod and she loves it) but Im a lil concerned that may look like a gift for me too ;)

We've seen whales 4 times in the last few weeks from Byron, the Q1 and Lennox head and I know she likes them too.

Or buy her a pushbike. She lives in a pretty awesome part of the Goldy that is perfect for bike riding any time of the year.

So Pushbike.. Whale-Watching or Deep sea fishing?

Any of those winners, or do I need more options?

Get her something tangible like the pushbike although it may look like youre trying to tell her to drop a few kgs
Birthday presents are tough.

All those options are fantastic dicey and very thoughtful.

I'm rubbish at buying presents, i've never thought of an idea as awesome as those.

I know what you're saying. Id take and leave my pushie down there and means we can ride heaps of places. BUt for example, my uncle every year does something like sky-diving and tiger moth rides, which are awesome memories and experiences... so Im torn.

Can you get a good ladies pushie for 200ish, then add on helmet and obligatory over-sized bow.

I dont want to go down the jewelery path.. thats boring.

Try ebay and op shops.

My friend bought an amazing vintage road bike for $150 from an op shop.

Thanks Nicky.. Im also thinking of the kilos and kilos of Black Cobia and Snapper and Tuna we may come back with from a fishing trip. Might mean buying another freezer.

What about a bowling ball?

Nah went bowling a cpl of weeks back. The kids and clips and loud noise of Justin Beiber almost made me violent. Didnt help that I was under the impression there would be a bar there :(

Im leaning towards a fishing trip, cause we will probably see whales too. But thats because its the gift Ill get the most joy from too

pushbike is good

or hot air ballooning. probably more expensive than what you're currently looking at but could be worth checking out

On my saturday morning run one of the hot air balloons landed right in front of my friend and i at edinburgh gardens, north fitzroy... It was spectacular.

What sort of a shitty bowling alley doesn't have a bar

Dont get her a pushbike. You might as well get her a dildoe and you don't want anything that adds to soreness of that area. Plus you dont want anything that gives her opportunity to meet some douche bike rider with his junk hanging out at the lights.

Bugger whale watching, adrenalin leads to sex.

Take the fishing option but give her some token gift as well, chocolates, flowers and a cheap necklace or earrings.

Jewellery is a sign of ownership like a slave band, they love the stuff and it works. :)

Fishing is out as I left it too late. 2 hours ago that was a winner. Now all Im left with is bike. And where she lives there are no traffic lights. She's at the very northern tip of the gold coast. a nice little seaside village. Lots of old people and dogs. Its cool.

I take it that's what she wants?

I'd be careful of giving a gift of freedom that is under 1k.

Last thing i'd want is to go through is another relationship of 'its too sore blah blah'. Kills it.

Electrical items age and when they become redundant, shifts your sex bribe to something that needs upgrading.

She sounds adventurous and up for new things, so maybe look at another interest of yours and set the course for your hobbies to be further insync.

Surfing or scuba type efforts to go along with the fishing?

If you enjoy bike riding then that's not too bad.

If you're looking at spending reasonable dollars, adrenalin = shags.

Common interests = sustainability.

Get her a nice little white short summer dress for walks along the beach (cheesy I know, sorry) and a little black dress for dinners. Try one of the surf shops.
Go the extra mile and throw in g-bangers of your choice

All up spend aprox $300

Take her skydiving. :thumbsu:

(My answer for everything hahaha- for xmas last year I gave my boyfriend a link to an adventure website and said "pick one". He chose skydiving... yadda yadda yadda, there I am up in a plane too jumping out)

:)

Also if she likes the beach what about swimming with the dolphins. Or a jetskiing tour.

She does sound like an adventurous girl which makes present buying even harder! You can't cop out with just jewellery, chocolates etc

Perhaps buy her tickets for two for scuba diving lessons or something along the lines of that. I thought buying a vintage bike is also a good idea.

My boyfriend has given me a fish and a cactus as gifts before. Quirky and cute. I thought they were absolutely adorable and I think its sweet that everyday I'd feed my fish or water my cactus and it makes me think of him. I know its cheesy shit but still, sometimes girls really appreciate things like that.

i got my ex gf one that looked like this for her birthday

cant go wrong things sick.:thumbsu:

If you are so set on fishing then why can't you book a few weeks after her birthday and just let her know? You said she is laid back she won't mind, especially if she is as keen as you say on fishing!

Instead on the day you could just take her out shopping or doing something she wants to do thats rather chilled before going out for dinner.
