I was watching an episode of the sitcom 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' the other day, where Larry David for some strange reason bought Jeff a dozen sponge cakes for his birthday. This had the effect of annoying and confusing Jeff's abrasive wife Suzie in equal measures, who was irritated by the gift given how overweight her husband is and how she could not figure out what Larry was trying to say with such a bizarre offering.

With Christmas coming up in a few days no doubt there may be some gifts that might have recipients and observers scratching their heads. Which are some of the bizarre gifts you might have received or seen given to other people for Christmas, birthdays, weddings, engagements and other occasions?

I got given a gigantic hair comb one year for a "secret santa" gift

I had been shaving my head for years at that point in time

I didn't get the joke obviously :p

I got one of those for my 50th, and have also had a shaved head for years.

At our work secret Santa one year, a girl (who was a bit of a smartass) received a miniature cow. She didn't get the joke lol. And no it wasn't me, I thankfully opted out that year.

I put thought into my gifts, even if they are dorky (eg: getting my manager a football related present).

I've been extra sentimental in addition to how philosophical I get in the final week of the year. I've extended my giving nature to several others at work as well. Its more to show my appreciation of them. I even went to another extreme and wrote borderline novels in the cards as well.
