Anyone else a fan? I reckon they're rad.

got some top tracks, She Talks to Angels, Jealous, the cover of Hard to Handle.

Spewin' they broke up but I figure Chris just wanted to spend all day banging kate Hudson, you can hardly blame him either.

F..kin great band RJ

3 votes for the best "lazy Sundy` arvo @ the Espy havin i few quietees " ...band .

My Karioke of choice ;)

Have they actualt broken up ?

Yeah I heard Kate Hudson did a bit of a 'yoko' on the band unfortunately.

Absolutely the best summer beer drinking band ever. They should have been Australian, but Chris has too much soul haha.

Always a constant source of amusement when i remember Suzi De Marchi punching Chris` lights out in NZ in think .... still LMAO .... he told her she sung like a man and ... KAPOOW

Only real rock and roll band of the last 15 years.
I noted that i want them to tour in the who to tour thread.
Just as well they all read this board.

I heard a rumor that they are back and touring or at least planning on it.:thumbsu:

LMAOO@ The 3 of us going to the gig together

Support ... Kanye maybe ?

I'll be seeing Kanye in March anyway I reckon. On topic, what's your favourite Crowes track if you can pick one?

Mine: She Talks to Angels

Great tune :thumbsu: " she never mentions the word addiction , in certain company .... love that lyric

Hard to say ... i go through fazes .

Picked up "By your side " from JB about 6 months ago for 8 bucks and have not had it out of the player ever since . Song called "horsehead" that just f..kin rocks ... playin it right now

Definitely back together coz they're touring Europe in March. Not sure which line-up it is though.

Man i havent listened to this band in ages! Was right into them back in the day. Chris Robinson, as much of a tool as he was, is a great singer and an awesome lyricist. And his brother Rich is a massively under-rated guitarist. Great player.

Shake Your Money Maker was a corker of an album. Also really dug Amorica, which wasn't as fun soundign as Money Maker, but is one of those albums that never dates. Sleazy blues rock at its best. Never got the Southern Harmony album though (one for the list...)

And i agree, She talks to Angels was a terrific song. "A Conspiracy" is a personal fav. What a groove!

And if this isn't one of the all time best album covers then its at least a good one!

And the Suzi DeMarchi story went something like Robinson, all 48 kilo's of him, telling her that women can't sing rock n roll followed by her putting him to sleep with a right hook!

I'd really like to be punched by Suzi Demarchi...

Amorica is quite possibly my favourite sounding rock album ever. Man, the production on that album is just so fat and dirty and gritty......it's just awesome. Jack Joseph Puig at his best.

The songs are great too.

Never really liked the first album (Shake Your Money Maker) much........too straight and boring. The 2nd album (Southern Harmony blah blah whatever its called) is better.......

....and then Amorica just kicks arse from all directions.

The album after that (Three Snakes & One Charm) is nice too....but By Your Side is pretty average imo........just weird production (produced/mixed by Kevin Shirley).........some good tracks, but I'd love to hear them with that gritty "real" production rather than the plastic sounding crap that Kevin Shirley dished up....

I just prefer the dirty gritty Amorica-style Black Crowes I guess.

Oh, and the DeMarchi story I heard was that Robinson went up to her and said "If you wanna sing like a man, you've gotta have BALLS!"

So she decked him. :p

i honestly reckon we'll only see 5 or 6 people post in this thread, they're one of those bands that:

1. you either love or ignore

2. are underexposed like buggery in Australia

Shake your money maker and Amorica are both great albums IMHO. One of the bands that I regret not seeing back in their heyday.

2nd album was good and I liked the cover of hard to handle.
then they seemed to disappear up their own arses somewhat imo.

And you call yourself a hip hop fan!! Pfft!

Seriously though, that is a pretty big call there bro. Dont get me wrong, i really got into that album but i'm not sure theres that much of "a long way" between it and....

Facelife -Alice in Chains
Seasons in the Abyss - Slayer
Fugazi - Repeater
Head - Jesus Lizard
Cowboys from Hell - Pantera
Rust in Peace - Megadeth
Time's Up - Living Colour
Fear of a Black Planet - Public Enemy
Bosanova - Pixies
Goo - Sonic Youth
Calculating Infinity - Dillinger Escape Plan
Girlfriend - Matthew Sweet (My personal favourite)

correct decade - wrong year;)
(it was 1999)

how about these?
The Real Thing - Faith No More
Left Hand Path - Entombed
Deicide - Deicide
Spiritual Healing - Death
The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste - Ministry

there sure were some great albums released in 1990

I went to see them in '95 in Brussels and I still think that night was the best gig I've ever seen.

After the concert we missed our last train back home and had to spend the night outside at -5°C, us school kids with no money for a hotel or a cab and too scared to call our parents we were stuck in some dodgy area.

Ah the memories :D :thumbsu: .
