Black socks?

Dennis Commetti commented on this tonight: why were the Pies wearing black socks? Should they expect a fine from the AFL for wearing the wrong socks? Whatever happened to the black socks with the white stripes down the side, I thought they looked quite good...

We wore our clash jumper. Should have worn black and white socks as well.

I'd have no problem with wearing white socks with the white strip - It might even look better.

Meanwhile, anyone who suggests that that's not a clash strip is a dumbass.

I never said that I thought the jumper/shorts combinations clashed. It was just weird to see both teams wearing exactly the same socks, you don't see that too often in AFL games. Collingwood usually wear black socks with a white hoop in away games against Port and Carlton, did the property stewards forget to pack those?

What should be asked is how Port were let into the AFL with the same socks that an existing AFL club has.
