I know it's early in the pre-season but one of my leagues is kicking off soon.

Dynasty keeper league with standard 9 cats except no fg% and ft%. It's fgm and ftm instead.

Bad ft % big guys go very well with those cats (i.e. Dwight Howard is ranked 7 from last year) so Griffins ft% isn't a factor.

Someone has offered their first pick in the draft (i.e. Blake Griffin) for my Rudy Fernandez and my pick 15. In this draft I don't really rate my pick 15 so it's expendable.

So looking at projections for this coming season what are people veiws on Griffin and this trade,

for this year?
and for Rudy and Blake's careers?

I'd be taking that deal to get rid of Rudy ASAP if Hedo lands at Portland.

Disclaimer: I don't know squat about fantasy basketball.

Do you have to pick up Griffin with that pick? I mean could you take Stephen Curry instead? I imagine he will be a pretty good fantasy player (read stat stuffer).

This is completely off topic but in a h2h keeper league, should i do this trade?

I get Tony Parker (64.5) + Jermaine O'Neal (48.4) + Azubuike (46.7)
for
Marcus Camby (58.3) + Paul Pierce (62.7)

brackets are last year's fantasy scores.

PROS:
- U will likely get more points in return.
- U get an increase in depth.
- U become younger (not much though)

CONS:
- Camby is a top 5 fantasy player when healthy... Pierce is easily top 15 and is quite durable.
- Azubuike will be GSW's trade bait next season if they look for trades... very high risk that he's a product of a fast system.
- JO is done and will not average 48.4

Overall, the trade is extremely even. If that trade helps ur team for needed depth, or if ur current team is not injury prone then do it straight away.

If u don't need to do that deal because u're all set, then don't do it.

You get the best and youngest player, but I'd say no to that deal.

Camby is getting very old and I'd look to trade him, but O'Neal and Azu just ain't enough.

I would probably do it for the first pick. You can decide later who you use it on... whether it's Griffin or not.

I don't think Griffin will be a very good standard 9-cat player. Bad FT% AND no blocks doesn't bode well for big men. But with FGM AND FTM, that probably puts it in his favour.

Overall, first picks are always very valuable so I like the trade.

Thanks sniper.

That offer got rejected so now I've moved onto...

his pick 1 and Josh Howard

FOR

Bargnani, my first round #15 and my second round (#13 in the second round) picks.

He gets 4 mil in salary savings too (its a salary cap league).

Waiting for a response....

Since we are throwing idea's around...

What are people's views on Gilbert Arenas?

Would you take a risk on him this year?

No.

At his best, he was a top 5 player. Fantastic in PTS, 3s, steals, FT%, ASTS.

However, even if he plays at a very high level this year, he won't get to his previous top 5 heights.
So with that in mind, I'd say first-round is his ceiling. Then, you add the injury risk, and the fact that he probably won't get to that 'ceiling' I was talking about, and he drops a few more rounds.

Probably a decent risk-reward pick-up as your 4th player, because that's when the talent drops off a bit. But I don't know if I'll be picking him there simply because its scary owning a player like that this year.

How about another trade help:

h2h fantasy keeper league.

I got offered Boris Diaw who has SF/PF eligiblity (50.1 fantasy points last season) for Okur (56.3).

I only have 2 PFs on my team who are not reliable... in Sheed and Wilcox. Should I do it?

OK, a few more questions.

Standard 9 cat roto dynasty league (i.e. you keep all your players every year).

Josh Howard for Andrew Bogut.

Does the Bogan... I mean Bogut have any kind of upside?

h2h keeper league.

i get: Chris Bosh + Thad Young + Ryan Andersen
i give: Kevin Durant + Ariza

i need PFs on my team.

should i?
Durant is money and will be for many years to come.

I wouldn't move Durant unless I got CP3 or Lebron back in a keeper league.

Agreed. Durant could be close to the number one fantasy player after this season. Sky is the limit.

I doubt he overtakes CP3 but he could well be the #2 player by the end of the season.

More upside than LeBron fantasy-wise becaues of that mammoth FT%. LeBron is obviously the safer bet though, because we don't know if Durant will reach the level we are all thinking he can.

Also, positional play is way overrated. Try getting another lower-quality PF (doesn't have to be Bosh) and not trading your best player just for positional sake.
