can someone explain the diff. Watching US Poker on fox and I don't understand the Small and Big Blind. Are these different from and Ante?

do the blinds go in before hands are delt?

Ante's are usually put in after a tournament has been running for a while. They are there so that it forces ppl to play more hands (in a sense) and makes the pots bigger. Also stops ppl from not playing any hands.

Blinds are forced bets which encourage ppl to play more hands through pot odds and all that. Small blind is half of the big blind and is there to entice a player to play the hand.

Im sure someone will go more in depth and make this sound stupid but its just the jist of it.

so as the small and big blind you have to play the hand? Does the blind go in before the hand is dealt.

Lets say Player 1 is on the small blind, puts in $5 and then the big blind puts his $10 in. What does the next player bet? $10 to call? And does the small blind have to add $5 to call after a round of betting?

As long as no one else raises, then the big blind has to play the hand (well he'd be stupid to fold to no bet) and the small blind may as well as its cheap to play.

Yeah, it's pretty simple. At the beginning of a betting round, everyone at the table puts in a small amount called an ante. The player left of the dealer button puts in a forced bet known as the small blind. The player left to him puts in a forced bet known as the big blind.

The Big Blind is generally twice the size of the small blind, while the ante is usually half, or three quarters the size of the small blind. So if I was playing a game with a $20 Big Blind (BB), and a $10 Small Blind (SB), the ante could be $5, $2, or $1.

The player left of the BB is the first to act in the first betting round, while the player left of the dealer button is first to act on every other street. The Big Blind is also an indicator as to what the minimum bet is per betting round. If the BB was $20, a player must call $20 or raise to a maximum of TWICE the BB ($40) in order to raise a sufficient amount. Then, on the flop, turn and river, the minimum bet is the BB, $20.
