Silent Alarm is one of the best albums of the last few years

I love Silent Alarm, brilliant album.

Their second effort had its moments but isn't as strong overall. There are probably 5 good tracks on there, with Uniform being another OK track.

Yup, definitely my favourite band at the moment. Silent Alarm is amongst my favourite albums ever and yeah, A Weekend In The City can't touch it, but it's still better than most of the crap being produced at the moment,

Shattered I missed out on tickets. Didn't remember they were on sale till 7 pm that night, but by then they were all nabbed by bastard scalpers and Dolly readers jumping on the bandwagon. Seeing all the tickets on sale on e-bay infuriates me no end. I'll still probably end up buying them though

Note to self: Shins tickets on sale this Friday, don't forget this time.

Seeing as they sold so quickly would it be possible for a second show to be announced, a la Muse earlier this year? I'm not too sure on this type of thing, with time frame etc but I would have thought there would be some serious cash to be made from a second show. I'm talking Melbourne here.

Would depend on their schedule. After their Melbourne concert they've got Splendour at Byron and a Sydney concert. Seems like a small rushed tour. You'd hope they'd do a more thorough job within 6 months of them coming down with more Melbourne and Sydney concerts and some shows for Qld, SA and WA.

Not bad, though I find they can get a bit same-ish sometimes...I find I tend to prefer them when I hear just one track in a random playlist rather than listening to a whole album (I have both Silent Alarm and A Weekend In The City).

I actually heard them for the first time on JJJ, a live gig...and a bloody good gig it was. Maybe I prefer them live.
