I got one today from Harvey Norman for $1630. Normal price was $1799. Finally got it set up. :D

Finally now, I can use the blank DVD's I got. :D

Who has one and what do they think of them?

i have a Blu Ray burner installed in my Sony Vaio. Came installed. Barely use the burning capacity due to pricey discs. Have come down heaps since I bought it the start of last year.

I'm not that fussy, it's not that much better that normal HD. And the prices don't make it any more atrractive either.

I got the Panasonic twin HD tuner 250gb / DVD recorder unit back in January. Kicked myself a few months later when updated versions of the same unit began appearing (double the hdd capacity for the same price etc). I did look at the blu-ray version, but felt paying $1800 (at the time) was not worth it when the blu-ray discs were $25 a disc.

I like the unit, my previous experience was with a Pioneer 160gb ANALOG tuner dvd recorder. My only gripes with the Panasonic model is with recording stuff off the hdd to dvd - has to ALWAYS be done in real time, then copies over to the dvd. It sucks when the recording is 2-3 hours long, then having to wait another hour or so for it to burn to dvd.

Whereas my old pioneer unit would play the program and burn it to dvd as it played.

They're the only 2 gripes I have with this thing. The Blu-ray discs are too expensive and it records from HDD to Disc in real-time.
