Billy on Wide World of Sports said they have conceded more than 100 points in the last 24 games (25 is the record).

Geelong has conceded 100 points 3 times in there last 24.

Looking at last night's game, it seemed to me that for the first time in Ratten's coaching career, losing hurt him. He seemed genuinely aggrieved when Essendon came away with those goals early in the last quarter. I'd say that he is feeling now 'shite, i'd love to have a win now, it really has been such a long time!'

The thing is, and i reckon this is a side effect of tanking, that when you get yourselves into a winning position like late in the 3rd quarter, you as a side seem to freeze, unable to continue with the same play that got you into that winning position. So many weeks of trying not to add to those 4 victories last season might be taking their toll. I would suggest Carlton as a side really have great difficulty remembering how to win.

Mind you, they would need to play pretty poorly to lose to the Demons in Round 5. That will be a game for the ages, as both coaches will be desperate to break their duck.

Re: Ratten 0-9, gee he is impressive

I would challenge any coach in the league to do a better job, signs last night were better for the blues though, just ran out of legs at the end

Yeah but they always lift for us. They'll be back to their crappy best next week.

Re: Ratten 0-9, gee he is impressive

Let's not over rate Carlton's performance for the Essendon midfield while quick and talented can be very loose in manning up and Essendon were a little wasteful in the first half so if Carlton play like that against Collingwood they should be beaten by a wide margin.

Mick would make the 8.Look at the list he had in 02 and he nearly won the premiership.
