In an exclusive for carltonfc.com.au visitors, Carlton today unveiled its leadership group for 2005. Carlton captain Anthony Koutoufides will be joined by seven players in the group which was determined by the players during the clubs recent visit to Shepparton.

Scott Camporeale, Lance Whitnall, Nick Stevens, Matthew Lappin, Barnaby French, David Teague and Ian Prendergast join Koutoufides in the 2005 leadership group.

The announcement of the clubs Vice Captain will be made prior to Carlton’s first Wizard Cup match against Essendon at The Dome on Sunday February 20.

Yeah, fair enough point about Thornton - but there must be reasons he was left out - perhaps to concentrate on his footy for this season at least. :)

This whole leadership group concept is a load of ********. I'm sick of all clubs following suit on this crap. What happened to the old Captain, vice and deputy.

I agree with Kooley. I would imagine that Prenda and French may not even hold their places in our best 22. I think that the 3 onfield leaders are ample.

If you need a group of solid individuals for off field discipline then have them but dont make a big deal about naming them.

I certainly would have had T-Bird ahead of Prendagast.
Still I'm happy Matty Lappin got a gong, he's worked his arse off the last couple of years and it's good to see him been acknowledged.

Well done to Teaguey!! I wasn't impressed when we got rid of him but Dennis has seen the goods and obviously wanted him pretty badly. Had a good year at the blue baggers, im a fan and hope he keeps it up!!
