Pot this is kettle have a good look in the mirror you will probably look bigger too!

Sorry we don't have the record your club has. Though there were men of the highest integrity and caliber that went through your club. Fitzpatrick, Parkin and Ratten were fantastic humans, well I mean are! But there is a sleazy side to your club that only Collingwood could match, back in the days of Wren.

Carlton and Essendone are fierce rivals and I think you are trying to deflect the current situation into a Carlton and Collingwood slime fest! This is not on as what ever the outcome into this drugs scandal is ,Carlton nor Collingwoods name should not be harmed by this!

It's called doing ridiculous amounts of weights in one preseason. Sure it was fun throwing around a bunch of girls like your crime family club put on the park that day, but it was unsustainable as players who pushed it too hard went down one after the other. If only we had have had some roids or HGH we could have carried it off the whole year. Unfortunately Carlton ordered all the HGH ... purely for investigative purposes though!

This year though the boys have changed their program and gone for a more endurance base. Look out we'll be throwing your girls around soon enough.

Yeah, were the crime family :D You've taken that mantle off us so hard, you've ripped our arms off.

LOL!! Seems to me everything is on the table. Also regards who gets slimed by all this lets wait and see if Charters does get interviewed.

The efficacy or lack thereof of the drug is for the Anti-Obesity properties. The trial of the drug would have been what it was designed for.

Clearly, the muscle building side effects are of primary concern to those in the muscle building fraternity. Given that these side effects were known by the supplement pushers it's not far fetched to assume that this is why Dank was using them at Essendon.

Remember Viagra was designed as a heart drug and it's efficacy as a heart drug was minimal. It failed the trials..........

But it sure is effective for something else..... It passed those trials with flying colours.

Who honestly promotes a program of experimental hormonal fat burners for underweight AFL footballers?

Do they have to weigh in before game time in order to qualify to play?

It's an freakin' absurd proposition.

Naive much. I work in that industry, I know what can or cannot be done so don't try to give the "ridiculous amount of weights story". It's called bullsh1t. I'm sure every other club is doing a sh1tload of weights too. They didn't grow like that and most have good fitness blokes at their club. The body only capable of doing so much weight work and getting so much development without breaking down completely unless......... You can work out the rest.

Must've been the protein shakes after training....hahahaha.

All i'm seeing is alot of deflection from Essendon supporters..

Damning.

Of course I don't think that. I am simply pointing out that the club should be focusing on themselves rather than other clubs. It seems that a few people from Carlton were quite sour after the Essendon loss if those reports are right.

I would be quite disappointed if my club did the same. And yes, I am very disappointed that all of this drug saga has come about. No doubt about that

You think we should be disappointed that Carlton had a look into this?

If those reports are right, they suggest this chemist contacted them using his work with Essendon as his resume. Now there are two things Carlton could have been doing: 1. Find out what illegal things Essendon were up to, having suspected something themselves. 2. Discover if what Essendon were doing was legal and see if it was something Carlton could be doing. They recorded it simply to ward off any potential accusations later on.

The article said they did this after the Bombers beat them, but when did it happen? The next day, a week, a month, a couple of months? That bit could be journalistic licence as well or it could come straight from the horse's mouth. It's the wrong part to focus on. The main issue is that another club had suspicions and somebody possibly behind those suspicions had gift wrapped them an opportunity to find out what was happening.

There is little doubt the Carlton employees did this mostly to help Carlton, whether by finding out a rival club's secrets or by showing that Carlton's program wasn't so bad after all .... for a legal one.

So what you're saying is that you're suprised there is a difference between a player striding out and 12 months latter after a massive summer focussing on leg weights flexing to kick. Yeah well that evidence right there.

Google detective strikes again .....

If it comes out that your club had a program which gave illegal substances to players on a banned list would this change your opinion that it was just some 'extra weights' that helped pack that kind of size on. doing the running these guys have to do and then put on extra muscle is not a 'do some extra weights kind of thing' hence why it takes years for young players to put serious mass on.

If people are looking for motivation why this was recorded, Justin Cordy was fearing for his job at that time last year. Ratten, and no doubt Kernahan, wanted to know how Cordy's program was starkly inferior to Essendons.

I would think Cordy explained it to them....in detail.

And then retained his job with a pat on the back.

Then Carlton went on to lose more games under the exact same circumstances.

More recordings were produced.

Unfortunately, Ratten did not retain his job.
