Not a fan of overseas teams.....
Just interested what port fans think of who they would keep if one had to leave and what other clubs would choose if they had a choice

Well since you asked..

Good question, got me scratching my head on that one.

Right now Gray is the second best player in the competition. He averages the most clearances in the comp (even above Fyfe), and hurts on the opposition on the scoreboard like no other, kicking 42 goals last year to boot along with leading the competition for scoring assists and winning the AFLCA in a landslide.

These highlights are from the weekend alone. Dat one handed ball carry; freaky shit.

On the other hand, Boak is the heart and soul of the team, a genuine centre square beast on his own. Dual All Australian, top 5 in the competition for disposals and coming off a top 3 finish in the Brownlow. And while he'll never have a highlights package like Robbie, he's the greatest captain Port's AFL side has ever had. He leads from the front, he carries the team on his shoulders, and with his signature he dragged Port back up the ladder against all odds. I shudder to think of what Port's destiny would have been without Trav.

So with that, Robbie could win 3 Brownlows and I'd still have to go with Boak... you don't cut out your heart. But Robbie will rival Tredrea as Port's greatest AFL player.

I'd have to take Boak, sure he might not have the talent of Gray, but he is exactly what the Tigers need, a strong bodied genuine midfielder who stands up in big moments/games with leadership qualities. Gray is the cream on top of the cake, we probably need more cake.

Gray is one of the most talented players in the competition, and his output has basically caught up to that talent now.

But Boak is obviously no mug when it comes to skill and ability, then with the added toughness, grit and leadership, it becomes a close call. Has to be Gray though.

It's difficult as a Port supporter. Individually comparing them, Gray wins. But if there was a game to be won and it was up to one person to take us over the line, it would be Boak. When he is in form, he as the ability to bring back the belief in the team. I'm not forgetting Gray's effort in the 4th quarter against North Melbourne this year, he can be very influential.

I'd rate Gray in the top 3 in the AFL, and Boak in the top 15 probably. Boak is a great leader, but Gray has him covered in the football side of things
