Define "Bob Dylan Songs" ? If you mean ones that he wrote that have been done by other artists there are probably dozens of them. For example he wrote "Mr Tambourine Man" but I think that the version by "The Byrds" hit the charts before Dylan's own version was released.

Mightve been "Blowin' in the wind" , which Joan Baez has covered. If you look it up theres been an absolute tonne of covers of bob's songs.

The Hollies have covered a number of Dylan songs over their career, including Just Like A Woman, The Mighty Quinn, Blowin' In The Wind and I Shall Be Released.

Does anyone know of any Bob Dylan songs that other artists have covered?
Surely you are taking the pi$$.
Bob Dylan is probably the most covered artist ever. If not he would be bloody close.

I think the Beatles are the most covered artist of all time but Dylan would be up there. My favourite Dylan cover is probably Knocking on Heavens Door by the Gunners.

Without doing any research at all I think they are because of Yesterday. It's the most covered song ever but as for number of songs covered i thought Bob may be close. Like i said this is off the top of my head and on the weekend when I have time to kill I might look it up.;)

Dont know how accurate that is though because according to that, Elenor Rigby has been covered more than Yesterday which im sure is not right. But still I dont think any artist is covered more than the Beatles.

They had a question on the Einstein Factor last week, "Which Beatles song is the most covered song ever?" and the answer was Yesterday.

very good list that one Jod except how do they define an artist covering a song..... do they just have play a live version once?? put a cover on one of their albums, release the song as a single...

I generally define covering (this is my own definition - most probably be viewed incorrect) when someone uses the lyrics from another artists song to make a monetary gain, i.e. usually refering to releasing it as a single.

On that list above i'm assuming a lot of those covers are refering to a band that may have just played a song live at one of their gigs....IMO it is covering the song technically, but that sorta stuff happens all the time and is to be expected. That's how music has survived from all eras dating right back to the 1500's. So i, personally, don't consider it to be a cover version as such.

Sounds stupid, but i do think the two situations need to be considered different from each other.

once again how do they defined which song has been covered the most?? THe answer to that is really unknown unless your specifically refeering to people who have released the song for monetary gain as that can be tracked through approriate sources.

But if they're just refeering to anyone playing a song live well i'm sure yesterday is covered 100 times every weekend by bands across the world....

It is a very well known fact in music and for some time now that it is yesterday that is the most covered and played followed by something which is the better song IMHO I rather Pauls rockers not a song i remember him by but a classic nonetheless

Well going by that The Beatles have 172 songs covered with the most off 1 song being 112 artists.

I'm on a Bob Dylan site right now which lists 5870 covers of 350 songs with the most off 1 song being 375 versions.

Here is the top 10 most covered Dylan songs. (According to this website I'm on)

Top ten Bob Dylan songs covered:

1. Blowin' In The Wind 375 versions

2. Don't Think Twice, It's All Right 217

3. I Shall Be Released 181

4. Mr. Tambourine Man 176

5. Like A Rolling Stone 172

6. Knockin' On Heaven's Door 150

7. All Along The Watchtower 144

8. It's All Over Now, Baby Blue 133

9. I'll Be Your Baby Tonight 121

10. Quinn The Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn) 118

And all these are versions on an album or single not just a live performance.

The White Stripes were covering "Love Sick" on their last tour. Great song, great version - brutal, stabbing, desperate.
