Very sad news with the passing of Aussie Rules HOF member Bob Hammond.
Bob coached us for a short period (8 games ) in 1984 .Met him after we played Fitzroy one day , absolute gentleman and a great of the game in South Aussie

As a lifelong Norwood member I’ve met Bob several times and he was an amazing person. SA football has lost a true great and he won’t be forgotten.

Was only a child but was a rabid North Adelaide Roosters fan . I know he either started or finished there.
Saw him play a few times.
Without cheating, was known for his amazing drop kick from full back.
My Dad knew him well and always teased how impeccably dressed he was especially his attention to his (likely brycream assisted) hairdoo.
I think is SA Hall of Fame Fullback of the century?
A SUPERSTAR. An intellectual. A major footy contributor and humble but respected voice.

RIP Bob.

The Sydney Swans are saddened by the passing of former Swans coach and Australian Football Hall of Fame Member Bob Hammond, who died on Saturday after a long battle with illness. He was 78.
