Have to agree with you on this one. I have always liked Bolton as a player as he puts in 100% always but am starting to think that he might not cut it. He was terrible on Sunday.
He basically begged to stay and put up that performance. Maybe he should do Triathalons.

I feel Jacobs should have been kept because he gave us depth in the backline and could play a key position, especially in defense. We seem to be one or two KPPs short right now.
Granted, part of the problem is Fletcher's discipline, Lucas' form, and injuries to Johns and Laycock (whom one of which we hoped would step up at CHF). All of those things have complicated the situation. Bradley may turn out to be the next big thing, but he can't be expected to so soon.
Bolton isn't working out as a KPP. The problem is Sheedy feels that he can just stick Bolton in anywhere where there's a deficiency and it'll magically work itself out - we even threw him in the ruck for cryin' out loud!
And it's not working.
Look, I have always tried to remain ambivalent among the 'Bolton wars' that seem to transcend all Essendon internet forums, but I must admit that I'm beginning to lose patience with him.

bolton can (in theory) play back, foward and midfield. i hear he's pretty good on the bench as well. i'm thinking that's why they kept him.

I think Mark Bolton has a bit more to his game than Jacobs. Danny played well as a loose man in defence but when he was forced to play one on one he was beaten a lot. I still think Bolts will improve over the next season or two and become an important player for the dons.
Bolton has to be the worst player currently running around in the AFL.
4 disposals last week for 3 frees against.
And this from a KPP.
Sure he can run lots, but all he does is chase the ball without actually getting his hands on it. He doesn't have good hands, so he spills even the easiest of contested marks, and his handball and foot skills need heaps of work.

the thing i cant comprehend is yes he can run but that doesnt qualify him for playing on the likes of buckley, pavlich, goodes etc............he keeps getting these big jobs and they just chop him up!
put him in on the wing & leave him there or work him off the bench a bit more regularly is wot i reckon............
i dont know his contract details but bloody hell he needs to pull his finger out or he can ship out!
