- Video games are a team aren't they?
Played three games of Boss Monster yesterday. A nice and quick little card game, heavy on theme and light on mechanics, but hose that are there are fun.
It's a tableau based card game where you play as the Boss of a 8/16 bit era sidescrolling dungeon (left/rightly). You take turns building up your dungeon with a series of specialist rooms that will both attract and hopefully kill the adventurers in town. Rooms have powers which you can activate or just trigger and you usually have a small set of spells to cast as well.
The aim is to build the most attractive but lethal dungeon, kill the most heroes and have the least hits to yourself.
A lot of fun, although the card set feels a bit narrow after a while. 4/5 Nice time filler.
