I rate them! Can they go all the way? Maybe not but i expect them to get past New Jersey and into the NBA Finals. Could be a huge upset if they manage to go all the way. They certainly have the cattle with Peirce and Walker being two of the best players in the NBA.

Boston v Lakers in the NBA Finals would certainly be something to see but i doubt if Boston could bring it so i hope its a Kings v Celtics NBA Finals.

Your thoughts on the Celtics? Can they go all the way?

The Celts have done well. Actually O'brien has done a remarkeable job in cleaning up the mess that Pitino left. However, they are too reliant on Walker and Pierce. I like the Nets and they have a more balanced attack. Kidd is awesome.

Can you seriously see anyone challenging LA this year?

despite the odd huge game from walker n pierce the celtics are winning on awesome team defence and heart

kobe vs PP finals would be awesome

yes.. the nets won...
its the last time we'll get to see the charlotte hornets...

should be an good series... boston v. NJ...

go celtics !!! in particular.. my favourite current playing player... k.anderson !

Boston seem to have the goods. They have been fighting hard, and though Pierce and Walker are their main guns, but they have the tools there to light it up with Anderson, Delk, Rogers etc to light it up. Would like to see them do it, but I cant see them getting past the Nets.

Its a tough series to call....im gonna go with the Celtics in 6. Could go the other way though??

I dont however think that the Celtics are too reliant on Peirce and Walker. People said those things about LA including me but the honest reality of it is that LA are a team. They play D, execute there offence and have role players who do enough to support Kobe and Shaq

Boston IMO are very similar, they have there big guns with Pierce and Walker but they are well supported by Delk, Anderson, Rogers, Potapenko, Williams and Battie. The C's play team defence, have a genuine closer and go to guy in Pierce and are absolutely deadly from outside.

I think they will have enough to get by the Nets. Whether they go on to play the Lakers in a classic rebirth of the oldest and best rivalry in the books or they come up against Sacramento i think it will be an exciting end to the playoffs.

Oh my God, Jod admitting the Lakers play like a team, and not just the Sahq and Kobe show. I never thought I'd see it.

Anyway as much as I'd like to see a Lakers-Celtics Finals Series (we still owe them 5 thrashings), I can't see Boston getting past New Jersey. The Kings are definitely favourites in the West, but I think the Lakers can beat them in 7, and in the East I think New Jersey will do it in 5.

I just do the two man show to annoy you :D You cant win 2 championships if you dont play together. Here's hoping the Kings can get by in 4. :D

As for the Celtics v Nets. Pretty brave statement that Devo...considering the C's won the season series 3 - 1 and Paul Peirce this season has averaged around 38ppg against them, up 11ppg from his season average. Looks like Pierce plays his best ball agains the Nets....I think the C's in 6 or 7.

I still like the Nets in 5. Scott and Kidd have them playing some of the best Basketball I've seen this season, and as good as the Celtics are playing, I think Kidd will be the difference.

If the Nets are playing so well...do you think they have any chance against the Lakers or Kings if they do go through? I think the reason they will lose the Eastern Conference Finals is because they have no go to guy. The Kings have Webber or Stoja, the C's have got Peirce or Walker, the Lakers have Shaq and Kobe....but the Nets?

The Nets dont have one proven scorer who can be relied upon to go to down the stretch to get the big buckets. Kidd is no scorer even though he pulled out some heroics against Indy, he isnt consistent. This is where the Nets will fall down IMO.

Jod, I don't think either team will beat the Lakers, but Kidd is a go to guy. He came second in the MVP and it was widely recognised that he has the ability of influencing a game without scoring a stack of points. I think if you look at where he scores his points, you'll find that in close games he has the ball and generally delivers.

Kidd does influence games without scoring...but say its all tied up against Boston with 4 mintues to play. The C's put the ball in Pierce's hands, Shaq, Jordan, Webber, Duncan....guys that cant be stopped. Guys who will score. The Nets dont have a guy like that.

Just my opinion on one of NJ's faults and where they could come unglued.

The Nets won game 1 at home pretty confortably at that's all they need to do, but you are right they don't have a go to guy, but they have the best controller in the game. If Kidd can control the tempo and New Jersey's offence, then that should be enough to see them through to the Championship Finals. Their defence is sound and the players play to the game plan better than any other team I've seen in long time. The pressure is on Boston to win the series because I can't see New Jersey losing it.

Pretty much agree with ya there DEVO. I didn't see the game. Who was playing on Kidd? Anderson? Whoever it is, unless Boston realise that Kidd averages more rebounds than most starting centers, it will be over before they can say "fast break".
