Richmond’s breakthrough win over the Western Bulldogs has been soured by the news that Joel Bowden has been cited for charging.
Bowden will face the AFL Tribunal after umpire Shane McInerney reviewed the first-quarter clash with Scott West on video and deemed it worthy of a report.
The 24-year old hasn’t missed a match since round four, 1998, amassing a total of 116 consecutive games - the longest sequence of any current player.
The charge will be heard on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, the altercation between West Coast’s Daniel Kerr and Hawthorn skipper Shane Crawford during last Friday’s clash at Subiaco Oval has received the all-clear. Umpire Scott McLaren said the ‘scrimmage’ did not warrant a report.

Hopefully he'll get 5 and put us out of our misery of seeing another insipid performance.
He has been the greatest disappointment to me and others. When you say this to people, they say oh he's one of our best players every week, look how many possessions he gets.
Well, maybe they should look at more replays. He would have to be the greatest waste of talent going around. Shame, he'll probably develop if he goes to another club, but he's lost me.
But then again, he was allowed to get away with his half-hearted efforts. No disciplinary action, never dropped, picked up his pay cheque ever year - piece of cake this footy biz.
