Saw Box Hill Hawks play Williamstown today.
Considering it was a Qualifying final a few players were very disappointing.
Simon Cox - No run, no chase, no interest, no heart today. What has happened to this bloke? He was fantastic in 2002.
Rayden Tallis - Dropped uncontested chest marks, kicked OOF under no pressure, always 5m behind his man.
Nick Stone - No impact in AFL, no impact in VFL. Never won a contested situation. Never in the right position. Out classed.
Kingsley Hunter - Dropped easy marks, too slow to move the footy, went to ground almost every contest.
A few players worked hard until the end
Tim Hazell - Provided good leads, took some desperate diving marks, unlucky not to bag a few goals, looked like a bloke playing for his future and was a standout in the forward line. Laid some big tackles, dived for smothers, may finally be overcoming injuries and playing good football.
Adrian Cox - Runs hard, got cleaned up on a few occasions but bounced back. Solid but not spectacular.
Matthew Ball - Showed signs of class, didn't get enough of the footy. Confident to take on McGough, Molloy etc which was a good sign.
Rick Ladson - Ball magnet, evasive, clever and suprisingly strong.
Anthony Marguccio - Who? Shut down Leon Davis, laid some big tackles, very quick. Libba used him as an example at 3/4 time of a bloke putting his nose over the footy. 180cm, 18yrs old.
Tom Bayford - Another bloke who worked hard all day.
Stephen Kenna - Tiny bloke, bloody fast. Ran down two players he had no right to get near. Clean hands in tough conditions. (170cm, 21yrs, QLD)
Interesting point was Williamstown had a huge support from senior Collingwood players. Not only did they have Molloy, McGough, Davis, Betheras on the ground, they had Buckley, Rocca, Licuria etc in the crowd. Couldn't spot any senior Hawks.
