Hey Guys, I'm new to this site and I must say I have been really impressed with some of your posts so far. I was just wondering if anyone knows how Brad Fisher is coming along after his knee injury. Thanx

Has been running laps for most of the preseason so far and joined in a skill session the other day. Is aiming to be back by April which is quite incredible.

Estimates that he would be ready by Round 6, but methinks that the staff will gradually up the tempo. Maybe a week or two playing with the Bullants?

Will have to spend a month in the Ants at least IMO and show some good form while he is at it. If we are doing well by that time, it might be a hard side to break into.

btw Chemical, we are nearing 10,000 posts on this board, so tantalising close it is driving me crazy. Feel free to post whatever for the next few minutes. ;)

It wouldn't suprise me if he spent the whole season in the 'Ants and maybe come back for the last 4-5 rounds. IMO it doesn't matter if he doesnt play one senior game just as long as we manage him right and give him the best possible chance for 2006.

Hello there Mr Teague, great to have you on board (no pun intended). :)

I don't know many details about Brad Fisher's return, but as Nick Stevens pointed out, we should probably be looking at Brad being fully fit for 2006, as opposed to playing half a season in 2005.

He'll be a valuable player for the Blues long-term.

Cheers.

There are two schools of thought on this. If a player works hard to get back, do you reward him for that effort or do you wrap him in cotton wool for the year? Players want to play and who is to say that they wouldn't sit around being ultra conservative all year and injured themself round 1 of the following year.

If the medicos clear Fish to play, I'm happy with that. To want him to sit out unnecessarily is treating him as a commodity and not a person who has passion and ability to play the game.

When Kouta came back in 2002 and was reinjured after 3 games, he was initially allowed to come back because he had worked hard and desperately wanted to play. Being reinjured was a bit of a freak occurrence and took a fair knock for it to happen. It wasn't as though he simply broke down for no apparent reason.

Up to Fish and the doctors and the clubs willingness to play him.

4 more posts to go :). I wish godsmack was here still...I miss the little guy :(

Don't say that for gods sake chemical. He reckoned the boards were nothing without him as it was. I suspect he is around in some form. Some newbies don't just wake up and find the internet, they just reinvent themselves.

Josh Francou, Matthew Primus would add weight to the "keep em in cotton wool" argument.

Personally, I'd give him a run with the Ants and only if he plays well for the Ants, give him a run for the Blues. But I'd treat the 2005 season as a lead up/warm up for the 2006 season.

hopefully fish takes his time, but it would be great to have him back, even if only for the ants for the second half of next year.

being young i guess he is recovering well.

When he comes back, i;m sure he;ll be able to crack into the Blues team. He's a very talented footballer and has the best hands at the club. Showed what he's all about against the Lions in Round 8 of 2004.

relies on his spring to take marks. Lets hope his knee is ready to cope with that when he and the medicos decide its time to return.

the medical staff are pretty good at handling knee op recoveries these days , as they have had to do a lot of it , i imagine when Brad comes back he will be keen to play even if it is the last few games of the year
btw this is my first post :)

Will be very good for the blues for a lot of years to come.

Although I still haven't forgiven him for taking the mark and kicking the goal to put the Blues back in front late in the last 1/4 Round 12 2003.

i dont think fisher will be ready for the start of 2005 but he is getting better and im prving as time goes on
