Brad Ottens And Nathan Thompson

Did Trevor Nisbett say tonight on Channel 7 that West Coast were looking at Thompson and/or Ottens?

That would be one of the biggest trades in our history - especially Ottens.

I wonder who we would offer in return.

Any thoughts?

I'm also quite interested in Ty Zantuck - he would be a handy utility for us, and could perform a similar role to Andrew Embley.

I don't rate Thompson that highly - he's already 27/28.

I wouldn't want to lose Wirrpunda to Hawthorn for Thompson.

And it makes me wonder whether a decision has been made to trade Dean Cox to Adelaide for Stenglein, and we are now in the market for another ruckmen.

Cox re-signed last month and is our #1 ruckman, so he won't be traded.

Forget trading Cox. I'd be very upset if he were traded. Couldn't see it myself.

Thompson: prefer Whitnall because of age

Ottens: should be played in the ruck rather than CHF IMO. Would probably be surplus to our needs. Once again would prefer a true CHF in Whitnall.

Zantuck: Have been saying for a while that this boy can play and there would be no harm having him on our list. Has attitude problems but a change could snap him out of it. Could possibly pick him up for 2nd round pick.

Definitely not a good trade for us. Morrison, Braun and Wooden have been good servants of the Eagles but if needed, they may be traded. Cox and Wirrpunda are required players.

Strong, can play, fires up.
Only worry is poor attitude.
But he would be playing under Woosha.

Rumours I hope. I never want to see a repeat of the first 5 games of this year when Woosha was forced to use Carroll at FB. We need a backup for Glass as our #1 priority. More tall forwards/ruckmen are way down the pecking order IMO.

Serious question.

Who are the eagles going to trade for all these players. Every player that the Eagles have is considered off-limits that is quality and yet want to pick up the likes of Ottens and Thompson. Both have underperformed but still have high market value.

Chambers, Morrison and the likes are not going to get any of those players. Granted, Morton will be handy with a 3rd round pick so you may offload a first round pick but considering nearly everyone is untradeable how are they going to get anyone, including Stenglein.
