Ive just heard from a mate who saw Otto at Skilled today and was told by Brad himself that its not a rolled ankle, but really stress fractures and he will be out for months. I really hope my mate is pulling me leg (he is a Collingwood supporter, go figure), but I doubt he is. This isn't good.

Why believe it? You can't play a stress fracture off as a rolled ankle if he had stress fracture(s) his season would be over. A stress fracture is what he could get however by coming back too soon and putting too much pressure on a recently rolled ankle.

Sometimes they can take a few weeks. I remember when I rolled mine real bad back in 03 when I jogged over a rock (####in rock, what the hell was that doing in the middle of the footpath?). Blew up HUGE and was so sore I could not believe it was not broken. The swelling was unbelievable. I was on crutches and could not barely walk for 2 and a half weeks. Still had fluid and swelling in it some 3 - 4 weeks later. Could jog lightly in maybe 6 weeks.

Groins have been a little dicy of again, that's why he had such a limited pre season. Not to say it will stop him playing in the near future though, but not 100%

it is different for all...i know blokes who roll their ankles and they get minimal swelling and can walk on it straight away. on the other hand i have rolled my ankles out of the socket and blew up like a blimp and like yourself been on crutches for a week. and the blood from the swelling going into bruising make my leg look like gangrene.

lets hope brad is one who escapes rolled ankles easily.

Are you a cockney geyser there Gov?:p

Just on SEN, KB said to Neil Balme that Ottens could be out for the first ten rounds. Balme said he will back next week, KB askedwill Ottens be back next week for certain? Balme deflected it saying nothing is for certain, and is KB on his radio show next week for certain?

I don't like the sounds of that. Although resting him again against Melbourne wouldn't be a big deal.

I don't think it's OP, but I'm pretty sure it's his groin more so that the ankle that is the main problem at the moment, Chappy is a freak, I don't see even injuries slowing down a bloke like him.

Yup. I roll my ankle to some degree pretty much every time I play sport, most of the time I can just keep playing. I've rolled it and had it trod on at the same time though... with the swelling and discolouration it looked like I had a mango where my ankle should've been. 6 weeks before I could play again.
