According to 6PR. Brad Dalziell from Brisbane is quite homesick and is looking to come back to WA next year.

Brent Staker announced today to the Egurls that he wishes to be traded and he wants to be traded to Brisbane. So, a trade with Staker and Dalziell may happen there.

Maybe we could jump in and try to get a bite with Dalziell. Would he be a good fit with our club? Only 22 years old and may be right for our midfield.

High possession winner across half back. Sort of the linkman between defense and midfield. Not very damaging offensively. Surely Brisbane don't want Staker though, massive dud.

Throw a decent contract at him to go into the PSD and take him there?

Happen to know his fiance is a staunch freo supporter she will definatly be getting in his ear to come our way. But I doubt he would leave Brisbane they gave him a chance mature aged when no one else would..

I seem to remember him training with Freo and we might have taken him had Brisbane not done so before our next pick (which turned out to be Mark Johnson).

He could be a good fit ... gut busting runner on Subiaco. Certainly better than a lot on our list.

Seems to have dropped off the radar a bit after he has come back from his knee injury, so might come cheaply compared with end of last season.

If Drum wants to leave maybe a 3 way deal could be organised involving Drum, Dalziell and a Melbourne based club? Dalziell can be a big possesion winner and generally uses it ok although he had a shocker against us this year.

The Lions are looking for line-breaking midfielders. They think they are a bit slow.

Time to talk up Peake :o

possibly a 3 way trade between richmond freo and the lions???

Freo get:
Brad Dalziell

Lions get:
Andrew Raines

Richmond get:
Marcus Drum

Why would anyone take Andrew Raines?

Defines the word spud.

Off topic question, how does it feel to support a side with absolutely no future? :thumbsu:

Dalzeill is an elite runner and as mentions often plays a link role between the backs and midfield. He will just keep running and get open. His running seems a bit down since coming back from injury so might still be carrying a niggle.

His disposal has been the hit and although he can butcher it at times I thought he is generally better than most think. He does play short though and is not very penetrating. He has only been in the system for two years and there is no reason to think that he could not improve in this area.

I love how hard he works and is a kid that is not going to die wondering. He will run himself into the ground which I think you guys could use and on Subi he could be a revelation.

He has been on the outer in the second half of the year and his disposal in the reserves has not been flash. As mentioned I would not be surprised if he was carrying a niggle.

I think he suits your team more than WC who have a few similar players. You can keep Peake thanks but I am not really sure what we would want for him. He was extremely highly regarded at the end of last year and although he sufferred a bit from second year slump there is a lot to like about him. Roster spots at the Lions are pretty tight atm and it is not likely we will take multiple players or rubbish roster fillers.

It's unlikely we'd trade a draft pick for him - Harvey has said time and time again we won't - which doesn't leave anything other than rubbish roster fillers.

I'd trade Schammer for him, unlikely Brisbane/Fremantle would go for that though.

Not that keen on Dalziell ... I would rather Todd Banfield who plays a similar linking role, but much quicker, tougher, neater skills (although similar range) and more damaging (doesn't have much of an engine iirc) ... how's he been going in the QAFL, Quigley?

Banfield has been going okay in the AFLQ although not setting the world on fire. He needs to build his engine and get more of it. His pace though is electrifying and gets a lot of comment. It will be interesting to see how he goes with another preseason in him.

Bradesmaen why is he an obviously egotistical footballer? I haven't met him personally but I haven't heard that before. I met his uncle last year when he was over at the games and he seemed a very down to earth kind of guy and at that stage Bradd was loving the chance he was given and was determined to make the most of it.
