So who here thinks Whitecross can step up this year and play regular games for us.

Has to be one of the most unluckiest hawks going around and just when he was hitting his straps and looking like a genuine utility for us, his knees went.

I'm quietly cheering for him and hoping he can reach the form of a few years ago and get back to playing some solid footy in the senior side again.

So do any of you think he can be a part of the best 22 going forward or he is simply just depth now?

Depth only don't really rate his decision making and I think a few of the younger boys will go past him this year. He will still probably play a fair few games but I don't think he is best 22

He certainly deserves some luck, plus he's well respected around the club. After being out so long, though, it feels to me as if he's back in the pack and will have to fight pretty hard to get a game. Hope he does, though.

Whitecross is a really sad story. He could really get under the skins of opponents. It would be great to see him recapture his old form, but I'm not overly optimistic. There are other players lining up for a spot before him...

I thought he had established himself as a genuine part of the side when the injuries hit, have to admit I haven't always rated him as a player but as he grew he became a good solid player, and I became more and more sold on him, time will tell how he progresses this year and beyond (his body will play a big part in that) I really hope he gets going and re-establishes himself, he has been ridiculously unlucky and had he not been he would have a couple of premierships under his belt, I'm pulling for him this year

Having experienced a drought over the past four months of not winning a single game, I expect WhiteX to be the stimulus to drive us out of our doldrums and spur us on to finals later in the year, thus winning a long awaited 14th premiership. It's yet another Cinderella story.

Let's do it for Bailey Spangher Schoenmakers WhiteX!!!!

He has missed so much footy and his play at box hill last year wasn't inspiring though he did have some shoulder issues.

He's coming from a long way back compared to where he was at before the first knee especially. Not sure what role he is physically capable of playing now but his decision making and execution need to improve from where they were last year to get a regular game.

He always used to take a few weeks to warm into seniors so if he can get some decent game time during the preseason and get picked for round one he has a chance but it will be up to how he plays

Make or break season.

I reckon he's good enough and will make it. Did both of his knees in crunch finals. When fit, he has been best 22 at the pointy end of the season. Could have been a dual premiership player.

well he looks fit and ready has given himself every opportunity to succeed. He also has a mature body wouldn't be suprised at all if he gets games because of form this year. He is versatile can play back forward or midfield that gives him the upper hand on single position players

He and Duryea play a very similar role. Duryea has youth, health and better disposal on his side though. It's nice to know that BW is there at the ready though.

See whitecross is great disposer of the ball and he also able to dispose of both sides a rare commodity these days. He hasn't had a lot of footy recently which has meant his kicking has been off but when fit he is good kick

If he can get back to where he was a couple of years ago he will be a walk up start no doubt, I wonder how much of his shiftiness he has got back he used to have a beautiful little sidestep which along with his hip strength made him very hard to bring down

I think when the new 'best 22' players this season hit their inevitable down periods, Whitecross needs to be ready. Will be up to him form there.

I think it was in the last term when he spotted someone deep on the wing/half forward flank and hit them with a great pass. This is what he can do.

Off the back of a couple of NAB games WX looks like he will get quite a few games this year. I think if he is 100% back to play he will be ahead of all of the kids that are pushing for a spot, Hartung included. To me the signs are there that he wants his best 22 spot back & will be hard to push out when he gets in.

At his best he's a very solid AFL player. With a clean injury run he could easily play another 100 or so games. Just a matter of where.
