in one of the fev threads someone says their dad works at the club, and that the word around the club is that brennan is coming here.

obviously not a particularly solid rumor but what do people reckon? personally i dont really want a flashy but very inconsistent and sometimes lazy bloke for the price he would command.

I secretly love Jared Brennan. Love watching him play & think he's a freak of nature.

But now the Lions have a spare $700k to throw around, I'd say he'd be staying.

Just not a good fit for us. Would be very surprised to see us pick him up unless it was a very good deal or for free in the PSD.
I agree Barnzy. Not a good fit for us.
BUT...
usually when a player announces he wants to go to another club, it is only after he has had discussions with that club and the club agrees to try and take him on. The player would not want to announce they want a trade to a certain club only for that club to say 'No thanks, on yer bike'.
I realise there has been no announcement though by Brennan. If there is though, then we can start assuming the Tigers might be on board.

If he has nominated us then we've got the upper hand. Why on Earth wouldn't we give a Thursfield/Moore for him? Especially Moore, about the same age but Brennan is MUCH better. If we can pull off moving on a good key back for a VERY good key back, why wouldn't we?

Don't think he suites were we are going as a football club, too flashy for mine. Especially after years and years of this 'potential' he has only strung together a few good games.

Although if we got him in the PSD I wouldn't mind, as long as we don't throw him rediculous amounts of money :thumbsu:

Brennan turns 27 next July! If he becomes a Richmond player then we should probably expect that ALL of McGuane, Thursfield and Rance or certainly at least 2 of these will be gone. The upside is that we will have CHB of note and a certain starter in 22 games, trading out McGuane, Thursfield and Rance will open up the list for us to start covering other problem areas. We have also lost lots of experience over the past 2 years, bringing in a 26/27yo is not bad- depending on the cost and how we can utilise the new opportunity to plug holes in our list.

Well we can offer up Jordy and Slops, and jordy does get a lot of the ball and his disposal is pretty good most of the time.

CC talk to vossy get it done, and we do have rawlings who admires jordy.

Throw in Polak and I reckon Vossy would take that:D

Would love it if we got him by paying unders....but I just don't think that would happen...why would he want to come here anyway???

Leppitsch maybe?
Still young and could see a better future with us then at Brisbane or other clubs after him like Essendon.
I know I am biased but I reckon we are a pretty attractive proposition ATM

If (big if) we did end up getting him...where would his best position for us be?? Would he be that old-school utility?? Forward? Back?

I think that's the only reason that some people don't like/rate him...but he has been chopped and changed so much it must be hard to settle into any role Voss has given him.

Must say, couple him with Riewoldt and Griffiths up there for next season and that's a pretty handy set up.
