Burton wont get delisted as Neil Craig loves the bloke as he reminds him of himself with the scientific background and also to what he provides the team with unpredictability. Burton will finish his career on his own merits in about 2 most likely 3 years time by retiring along with Bassett and Goodwin. As for '08 i think will play up forward and if remaining injury free will properly kick 35-45 goals this year.

And one thing your forgetting Burton is the Master and van Berlo is his
Apprentice :D

I disagree

If Brett has another frustrating year with injury, he may be at risk

Our understanding is that the club thinks along the same lines as you, but it seems that Bock himself prefers to play up forward.

Given his very up and down form last year in the forward line, I'd say that's both very risky and very selfish from Bock.

Burton has plenty too offer and with his pace and fitness could play to an older age than most others. Is one of the few players we have with the x-factor.

He's a matchwinner on his day and we don't have many of them at the moment. Inconsistant yes but one of his speckies/special unpredictable plays will turn a match into our favour and give us the momentum. Every club needs a few of these and Birdman Burton is one of them. He won't get delisted next year, he's too valuable. Still plenty to offer us and if he gets delisted I would think many clubs would jump at him.

Should play at FF, where he does both the most damage while also doing the least damage also....................if you get my drift;)
I get what you mean...but ask Port how important it is to have an accurate FF in big games....

Does his contract run out this year? have another poor year and he could be in strife.
