Heard from a pretty reliable source today that there are four clubs chasing Deledio when he comes out of contract at years end. Whilst he is expected to stay at Punt Road, Carlton are one of the four clubs that are chasing him.

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this.

Yep I would take him, he needs to get away from that crap hole. Would add an extra dimension to our set up.

I reckon this guy is soo overrated and we would have to give up a fair bit to get him.

He only gets touches in junktime and we would have to pay him big $$ to get him over which would begin to put pressure on our cap.

Where would he play? Certainly not in the middle but if he could improve as a quick leading forward then maybe i suppose. Wouldn't pay a big amount to get him though.

Any chance you could let on who the 4 clubs are, or at least, if essendon is one of them :D

We'd have to pay an arm and a leg to get him to our club. As much as I'd love to see him in navy Blue i just can't see it happening.

whats the bet he is meant to replace fevola in the long run.

Dear goodness, carlton neesd some young blood. Ofcvourse if we have a good option then more sure, but more old tired blood isn't what we need. We need to keep pumping our team with good picks. Use our first round pick well, get a good fwd to train up to be the next fev. Othjerwise we will end up in a stinking pile of shit, paying more, using more ipcks and ending up with players who are just being recycled by other clubs.

Deledio should shine now without much pressure and without other big players taking his ball. If he can't shine now then how is he going to add to team.

Not sure. He's been a disappointing #1 pick. Never really been that good in the middle. Plays more on the wing or flanks. It would take 12 months at least to re-coach him and bring his game up to scratch after the damage the Tiges have done. Wouldn't be offering anything too excessive. If he does bail, I suspect Blues would be his first choice. :)

downhill skier of the greatest order. would rather chase daisy. malthouse said bout shmeghurst that they had to get the "purple crap" out of him. ya reckon we could remove the yellow stripe down his back? I think once your stained with richmonds mediocrity it'd be a hard thing to get rid of.

my nephew is close mates with him as the missus' family are all kyabramites, see if i can get anything out of him...

What do you guys reckon we would give up for him?

Would our first round pick be enough? 10-12... probably not.

Throw in JR? He has the ideal skills set for tigerland.

I really can't see it happening. How many players can we poach?

I reckon it would be great, his father played a game or 2 for us I think.

We also need to give Fevola a paesano, (means fellow Italian, sort of), lol.

Seriously though I reckon he would add to our pace in the midfield, he would also not be getting the attention he does at Richmond....great pick up I reckon.

I dont think he's worth anywhere near what we would need to give up in order to get him across. The most i'd be willing to offer is Jacobs or Hampson and our 1st Round pick. Perhaps throw in Bentick or Bannister as a sweetener but I doubt that would really add any value. I think he'd do well as a small forward at Carlton but I can't see us being able to offer enough to satisfy the Tigers. I'd much prefer to hold onto as many depth players as we can and try and offload them for 1st round picks to the GC next year, I think we would get much better value that way.

I would take him in a heartbeat. He is one of the few midfielders that can be terrific up forwards. Love his pack marking ability and his dead eye kick. Give them our top pick and throw in a sweetener, like Armfield.

Leave him in the side as a permanent forwards and pinch hitting in the guts. He goes alright in a side that has a history of poor development at the Tigerland. Carlton would only make him better :thumbsu:
