This greedy little so and so is threatening to take the NRL to court if it does not lift salary cap restriction for him so that he can get signed to another club.

He has been offered top $$$ by at least two clubs but would not sign, still trying for more. Yesterday, five clubs withdrew offers for him, stating that the salary cap would now be an issue as they have spent on other players instead while he was playing the field.

Kimorley believe's the salary cap is a "restraint of trade".

Surely, he must realise that he could have signed to a club for great money, but it was his greediness that has left him without a club.

He is also threatening to take St. George-Illawarra to court for withdrawing their offer.

If he wins his court case regarding the salary cap it will have ramifications on the AFL. I doubt he will, but it amazes me how greedy some players have become, especially in rugby league.

And anyway, Kimmorley is not a worth anything near what he is asking, so I can understand why he is without a club. He should sue his manager....

With that attitude, I'm surprised no-one has suggested he come to Essendon yet....

well the Dons are having their share of salary cap problems as well at the moment. Maybe the Swans will pick him up. He suits their recruiting criteria, ie. big media profile, large salary demands, only plays for the money, best days are behind him, over rated, will stand in the way of a good youngster!

LOL!:D
"Sydney, the place once-decent footballers come to die"....:p

Well, I'd usually ask him to come back to Melbourne (love him or hate him, he really suited our game), but with the attitude he is possesing at the moment, he can go to England for all I care... :o

What really makes me sad is that rugby league is eternally in the courts these days.

Ten years ago it was a great game that I enjoyed going to watch at my local ground.

News Ltd, has really stuffed this game up. The NRL board are incompetant, many clubs are on the verge of collapse and yet the players want more and more money and then sue if they don't get it. It makes me sick.

Kimmorley knocked back the Eagles because he felt that they would not be a strong team next year and this would affect he rep chances. The REALITY is that he DID get a rep chance this year and played so BADLY that he got dropped. He had a great forward pack this year and still had a crap year. He is a whinging, greedy, over-rated ********.

Let's hope the involvement of FOXTEL in the AFL from now on does not cause the catastropies that it has in league.

The game is chronically ill. I doubt it will ever recover. It will be a miracle if it does. The game is full of stupid or selfish people. Lokk at the latest fiasco over the Kangaroo tour. Look at Brad Fittler's role in it and he's the captain. Isn't he meant to show leadership but has a bob each way. He ends up looking ridiculous but the game even more so.

I hope it does survive. I think it will, but it has definately changed for ever. Loyalty is becoming extinct whilst greed and selfishness is a becoming common virtue of most players.

One good sign though was the two teams who made the GF have a majority of loyal players in their squads....

This is probably the main reason why I cant get into RL - players chopping and changing teams whenever they feel like it, even during mid season!!, how can supporters be loyal to a club/team when the players jump ship as soon as a better offer comes along without batting an eyelid

The big thing that worries me is I can see Aussie Rules going down the same path :(

Cheers

I must admit my Passion for RL has diminished since SuperLeague.

It is not the same game anymore. These days the scorelines are often 44-26 etc. and this makes for really unattractive football. Sure, there are lots of tries, but I go to see great defence as well, but it is rare these days. The quality of play has also fallen since SuperLeague. I mean how bad did Parramatta play to get into the GF.....

I don't think it will be long until AFL players become as disloyal and greedy as league players have become, especialy now that Foxtel (News Ltd.) get involved. I hope I am wrong, but the writing is on the wall.

The AFL should hang on to the salary cap for dear life and. more importantly, be very strict in enforcing it....otherwise we will see a lot of clubs go under and a weakened league. If Kimmorley's is sucessful in his case, then we might see players taking the AFL to court against some of their salary cap rules....very worrying...
:(
