What do people think of him playing across HB, given he is tutored in defensive skills over the next however long?

I'd have been playing him across HB in the 2's as much as possible if I had my way. He's got a bit of skill and dash but just doesn't seem to get enough of it across HF or on the wing in the 1's. I'd be pounding defensive skills into him over the next 12 months in an attempt to turn him into a decent rebounder off HB. That's the option for Meredith to make it in the AFL over the next 1-2 years IMO.

He looked OK in the first half across HF but needs to find more of the ball. Of course he hasn't played enough for any of us to draw a proper conclusion on him but I reckon a move to HB would do him a lot of good. Does he have enough time at our club to be able to make that transition given he's already spent a lot of time here already? Dunno. But I think that is where he should be tried next. I think he could have some real value there.

He's never regained the form he showed his first six or so games. He was somewhat unluckily dropped to get some more game time, suffered that injury (fractured arm?) and has really struggled to show the same dynamism he had before that injury. I think his ball use and kickin skills are above average but seems hesitant in contested situations and when under pressure

The coaches seem to rate him though so I don't think it's necessarily career over for him

Has the foot skills to make it at AFL level, but not the mindset. Compare his attitude out there to Luke Parker's, Sam Reid's or Alex Johnson's. Looks almost timid out there sometimes. Is a great kick, no doubt, but we cant afford to have him and Lewis in the same team atm. Both need to find some hardness and desperation. You could almost throw TDL in there too, but although he has soft moments he also shows hunger and determination I dont see in the other two.

Give Meredith a 2 year run in the seniors without fear of being dropped.

Nothing to lose.

It's helped Jetta. Look at the improvement in him after 2 years!

irritating that mediocre players like jets gets game time over bmer who's been struggling with injuries and consistency. And ffs he's in his 20s wtf career over?!

He's been disappointing really after showing some strong signs last year. When given the chance, he doesn't make any impact what so ever but he isn't the only one at the moment. I wouldn't go as far as saying his career is over, age is definitely on his side and a decent pre-season for 2012 could turn things around. I remember an interview last year with Stewie Maxfield during the draft camp stage, he spoke very highly of Brett and that the club consider him a big part of the future so I'd be surprised if he was given the boot.

You answered your own question. He's in his 20s. Has offered nothing. Career over. Same with Currie, and probably same with a couple of others.

..... He is not even close to 25, you realise players peak at around 25 yeah?

Merry pippin didn't do himself, or the team any favours with that dopey dribbly drop punt effort on goal. Even after witnessing Johnners effort FFS!
He should have slammed the bAs+ARD!
