The Cats and Dees are all raving about this guy. I don't know much about him but I'm now wondering if we should have taken pick 16 and Moloney instead.

He would have been a good pickup as a player, but getting the pick also has it's advantages, it is better for our TPP and it also gives us a good shot at getting certain players we want in the draft (a ruckman, Lewis).

He would have been a much better gain than Copeland who the Tigers wanted last year and he would have been a lot cheaper and been just as hard on his attack at the football.
Honestly. I would rather Pick 12. Moloney was good but has poor execution.

Moloneys a great young player and given the draft apparently peters out after first 5 picks he may have been a good pickup, although Wallace may have ideas of picking up 2 midfielders with your first 2 picks then looking at a ruckman with picks 12 and 16.

brent moloney is a great player in my mind and he is undoubtedly one to watch in 2005, a great pick up for melbourne as he will be a superstar, he is ready made(86kg) tough and he goes hard at the footy
He is a big slow guy and would never have gotten much of a go with Cameron Ling basically playing in the same role. Moloney was a very lazy junior player, certainly good skills when given time but Melbourne have paid a lot for him.
