Derickx , White , McGuane , Newman (retired) , Tuck (retired), Knights , King , A.Edwards, Nahas

Also Griffiths,Astburry,Helbig - I would have at a similar stage of development to O'Hanlon
He is a type we are desperate for and A.Edwards,C.Knights are just a stop gap measure

What you need to remember is that he wont be delisted this year and that pretty much opens the door for Tuck & Newmans retirement window - Knights is quality but injury prone i see him also in the same exit window as Newman,Edwards,Tuck

I'll have a crack at how I think it will play out with the key names:

Won't go: Knights, White and A. Edwards

Maybe to retire: Tuck, King, Newman - Tuck to probably go, I think the other 2 will try and stay.

Definitely gone: Derrickx

Probably gone: Nahas, Helbig, Lonergan

Likely to stay: McGuane, Griffiths, Astbury, Arnot, Elton, O'Hanlon

How many people are we likely to delist/retire? 5/6?

Right now, only Derickx and Elton are less likely to get a game than O'Hanlon at the moment, excluding first year players.

That doesn't matter though, he just needs to show he's got talent and a good attitude and he'll get another year.

I haven't been watching Coburg this year so I'm not sure.

Whilst its good for once to not have an easy ready made list for who've ill be gone at years end, we have some huge decisions to make.
Poor Mcguane looks a goner ah this stage. We have some serious thinking to do on Mcguane/Edwards/Griffiths/Astbury/Elton.
Nahas has seemingly signed his papers.
There is a group of Lonergan/Petterd/White/Helbig/O'Hanlon to consider.
Derickx gonski.
Tucky got that injury at such a bad time.i have no idea what will happen there.

My gut feel is Mcguane,Nahas,Derrickx,Tuck and ?
And of course footy being footy the whole landscape could be different in a month.

We only need to make three changes. So Derickx, Nahas and McGuane would be that. If Tuck retires that is 4 kids in the ND and only one less than we took at the last draft.

I don't think we need to push anyone else out the door, unless we feel its a strong draft and there are people we want, we have a very young list so I am happy to keep letting the current list developing.

We don't need to keep the high turn over going anymore.

Tend to agree,We are getting to the stage where we can make little changes to our Senior list and start seriously using the rookie draft to our advantage for requirements down the track,Like a Raw Ruckman who we can give plenty of time into or a 20-22yr old who missed out of being drafted but has matured with age.

No way we would delist Nahas. At most we could trade him, other clubs rate and need small forwards. He still does his job really well. My problem is is King gets injured or retires after next year who do we have?

We need to start looking at better Nahas then as a small forward. He has gone backwards at a rapid rate this year.

A Yarran/Garlett type player would be immense for us.

Edwards and Mcdonough, maybe Arnot as a small defensive forward.

Just to throw it out there - What would peoples thoughts be about trading our 1st selection for Yarran and taking Dayle Garlett with our 2nd pick

Yarran & Garlett in our foward line and running through the middle would create panick in any backline

I dont think our first pick would get it done.

I'm not sure I could support Yarran.... what if DH made him sub and he sooked it up! Certainly not for our first pick.... Agree some genuine pace is needed...

I just feel that we need some genuine pace and unpredictability (plucking things out of their a55 type)
Both Yarran & Garlett could also run through the midfield at times.

Morris - Rance - Grimes
Houli - Chaplin - Batchelor
Deledio - Cotchin - Grigg
Yarran - Vickery - Martin
Garlett - Riewoldt -Sheds
Maric -Conca - Ellis
King-Vlastuin-Jackson-Foley

Would be a fair bit of speed in this lineup

Exactly! We need to go hard for a small forward in trade week.
