I did not realise he is 189cm tall. If he can play as a marking HFF in the mold of Ryan O'Keefe, he may just come good. I always thought he was like 179-180 and a small crumbing forward.
Could be an x-factor next year along with McDonough.
If he can bring defensive pressure to the forward line, he may overtake Azza Edwards as the 4th tall.

He played junior as a key forward, but isn't really tall enough to do it at AFL level, so the club moved him up the groudn to (hopefully) make him versatile enough to play HFF.

Then we recruited Azza who is a similar height and plays pretty much the role O'Hanlon did as a junior...

I thought he was really good earlier this year, before his injury. Really dangerous around the wing/HFF area.

Am I the only person that looks at players coming through to AFL and guess if they're going to be any good or not by their looks? He's got the look of a clumsy fella that won't make it, knock on wood.

I think that makes me look like a judgmental prick lol

Really want him getting the ball around 70m out. Beautiful kick I50

Part of the reason he was moved from a (very short) FF to HFF was his kicking, for length, accuracy and finding a target.

In some ways, similar to Jack moving up the field...Just knows where to kick it and gets it there when entering 50.

I really rate O'Hanlon, but think he needs lots of time to adapt to his role finding targets after spending his junior years being the target.

Do you mean purely on looks or on how they look while playing? Because O'Hanlon is anything but clumsy on field, one of the more pure footballers on our list IMO

Purely on looks lol. I look at them and think "wow they're a clumsy lookin' fella, i wonder if they play how they look" :p I'm just weird like that

So what do you think about the way Bob Murphy looks from the Doggies

I Really like O'Hanlon and hope he makes it, But he does have that laconic look about the way he goes about his football Nick Davis,Stevie J,Yarran,Dan Connors are some players that i felt that looked laconic when playing.

Why has he not been tried as a FF at AFL level?? Is he quick enough??

They actually have a very similar look about them, great example hahaha!

Shit I'm sleep deprived..

I made myself stop judging books by their cover after we drafted Jack. Remember seeing a montage of portrait photos of each teams first pick from that draft. They all looked like what you'd call typical footballers, then there was Jack with this big friendly hayseed kind of appearance and I just thought "kid won't make it looks too soft." The rest is history.

Too short. How many sub-190cm FFs are there? There is also too much competition for that role.

Also, his strenghts include long, accurate kicking, so having him further out from goal makes sense.

Have a look at the draft photo for seedsman for the pies. It looks like he was born with a stocking on his head!

Well , learn something every day, how did u see dusty or pendlebury or swanny....now this may sound novel but I look at what they can do with the footy in their hands

Dusty always looked like a pure footy player to me

Is it weird saying this?

I like the way Dusty drops the ball onto his foot.
It's like he has a good understanding of where it's gonna go.
He's more Footballer than athlete.

For some reason Brett O'Hanlon reminds me of Nick O'Brien for us.

Reckon he could be our own Gunston type with some luck. At the very least, he should be aiming to take Azza's place in the team as that 3rd/4th choice forward marking option. Hopefully has a big 2014.

Can see him having a break out year this year, fingers crosses he stays injury free!
