This is a dilemma. He is still a very good player but is slow and an in-between height. Kicked 6 up forward for Casey this week and was in the best, so might be worth bringing him in this week to stretch the Dogs depleted defence. He is on the fringe of selection each week and I think he should play instead of Blake, but Lyon is reluctant to pick him. I think he could still add something whether in defence or attack, and should be picked ahead of Blake. I like him as a player and, on the back of 6 goals I would think he will be brought in to the side this week.

Mate, Blake is a much better in all areas but probably footy smarts. He can run faster, longer, jump higher, mark and play on any opponent. That is why he is in the side.
Voss plays one position. Unfortunately he is coming to the end of his career. There is no room anymore. He should be proud of what he has achieved though, because he has been a terrific player for the St.Kilda footy club....

This should be both Voss and Thompson final year at AFL level. I will be very suprised if both are kept for 2008. It's sad, because both were excellent players to have in your side. Both players are past their prime. Voss will only get selected if there are any more injuries (none against carlton!:o)

Vossy was one of my favourite players and in his primje a couple of years ago he was great...as much as i'd like to see him given another chance I just dont think he can bring any improvement to our side.

Yeah i think RL is reluctant to drop Blake because he provides so much flexibility - he can be used as a tagger, in defence, pinch-hit up forward or in the ruck.

I don't think there would be any point bringing Vossy back just for this week against the dogs. Our forward-line has been functioning very well the last few weeks, plus we will be getting Kosi back - which will allow give us more than enough options to exploit the lack of height in their defence.

I beg to differ. Blake is no Asafa Powell. On Saturday, he looked as if he were in slow motion. Also Voss is a better mark than Blake.

I have been both a knocker of Blakes and a supporter of Voss'. Unfortunately, I think Voss is just about finished. Blake, on the other hand, is probably at his most valuable to our side. Ross Lyon has discovered a couple of extra strings to Blakes bow that had not been seen before. He has much more to offer than Voss now.

sorry mate got to dissagree here voss is also a much much much better kick for goal and can play both forward and back. your right in the fact that we dont really want to be dropping Blake but Voss is a very under rated realiable player with great leadership skills.
