He has said before he wanted to wind things up in order to spend more time with his grand children. The trip from Albert Park each day must be a bit of a drag too. My impression is he wouldn't have extended until 2020 had the three understudies he was grooming for the role all not been headhunted.
Reckon when he settles on a suitable replacement he'll sadly pull the pin. I say 'sadly' cos I'd like to see him in the role in perpetuity.
Just hope we do better than Sutherland but as the Hun suggested today Sutherland is close to Carter so my plaintive cries might be all for nothing.
