we've also turned over our list a fair bit in his time here, usually takes young guys more than 1 or 2 preseasons before they have the confidence to hit targets regularly

That's true so it's difficult to judge.
Unless you're at the club in some capacity I imagine it is difficult to judge the performance of any assistant coach
