Can anyone take the BRIT awards seriously, or any music awards for that matter. I dont think music should have awards because all music is subjective. Yes you do have shit music like Beiber, Maroon 5, Minaj, the list goes on and on and on, but often these acts win awards???

I titled the thread BRIT awards cos I noticed something lately.

They have an Outstanding Contribution to Music award every year.

The following acts have won.

Sir Paul McCartney
John Lennon
The Beatles twice??
George Martin
The Police
Elton John twice??
Wham!
Eric Clapton
The Who
Cliff Richard
Queen
Status Quo
Freddie Mercury
Rod Stewart
Van Morrison
David Bowie
Bee Gees
Fleetwood Mac
Eurythmics
Spice Girls
U2
Sting
Tom Jones
Duran Duran
Bob Geldof
Paul Weller
Oasis
Pet Shop Boys
Robbie Williams
Blur

So most of that list is terrific, legends of the UK music scene, some more so than others, and of course not just the UK but they have left the shore of Britain to conquer the world. But what the **** is the BRIT awards doing?

Apparently The Spice Girls, Robbie Williams, Blur, Pet Shop Boys and even Oasis and I ****ing LOVE Oasis should be honoured for their contribution to music before a small british band from the 60's named The Rolling Stones. What the actual ****?

Not to mention The Kinks! Dire Straits! Joy Division! The Cure! Pink ****ING Floyd! Led Zeppelin perhaps??

The ****ing Spice Girls have made a more outstanding contribution to music than those bands? REALLY BRIT AWARDS!!?? REALLY??

Pathetic. Those awards should have no value at all.

Music awards generally hold up less than say the Oscars or even The Emmys. Grammys is an embarrassment.
Ive noticed that, the Oscars are better, with far fewer ridiculous winners, apart from when Shakespeare in Love beat Saving Private Ryan for best picture. WTF.
