is that official now that no further action to be taken ??????
a great point was raised about harrassment i reckon we would have a good case at the moment , it appears that certain partyies are trying to stuff us at every turn !!!

Bet we get McBurney for one of the next finals and the free kick count will be:
Ess/Geel 40
Lions 2

Reckon Hirdy's mate will umpire if we get Essendon too!

The umpires and review will be paying very close attention to everything Brown does in the prelim. No doubt firing him up will be part of the game plan of the opposition, especially if it is Essendon.

The tv contract is not "officially" a reason for the two night prelims. The AFL make the decision by themselves as to when games are played and not dictated to by the television stations. Now that sentence is paraphrasing the comments made by AD on the AFL website! Reasons given was so the two winning teams from this weekend have 7 days to recover before the prelim, to allow as many people as possible to either attend or watch the game and the afternoon game not going ahead is so it doesn't clash with the local grand finals that will be played in Victoria and South Australia.

From memory, all of those local grand finals were played the same weekend last year when Collingwood played Port Adelaide Saturday afternoon!!

Also in the same article as "we decide when games are played without outside influences" is that the team with the less turn around time from prelim to grand final in three years has won the grand final.
