I agree with the album, but my favourite song would be "My home town".

I saw him years ago at the Showgrounds. I got hit by a car the day before so was on crutches. (was supposed to go to Spandau Ballet the night before as well but missed because I was in hospital.)

Great concert anyway. Gotta love the Boss. :)

Never liked him too much, probably The River and I'm On Fire are my favorites

I'm On Fire

Hey little girl is your daddy home?
Did he go and leave you all alone?
I've got a bad desire.
Ooh I'm on fire.

Best albums

Born To Run
The River
Born In The USA

Best songs - love the whole Born In The USA Album but probably Darlington County, Bobby Jean the most.

Murder Incorporated
The River
Born To Run

Saw the Boss at the old QEII stadium in Brisbane in 1985. Great show, great storyteller, it was raining but nobody cared, just cooled us down on a humid March night. Have all of his albums. Nebraska takes a bit of getting used to but very mellow storytelling, just close the eyes and listen.

not many ppl know this but manfred mann's blinded by the light and the wilburys tweeter and the monkey man both dig fun at Springsteen. i know bruce had something to do with blinded by the light.

the boss to me was another incarnation of Bob Dylan but with his own values and storytelling and upbringing, then the patriotic rock star who could play 4 hours straight, he is the boss

Album:Nebraska

Song: Factory or Hungry Heart

Anyone whos interested in any of his "live performances" do yourself a favour and get a copy of: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Live in New York DVD.

Absolutely true. A work of art by a music legend at the top of his craft.

I don't know that I could name a favourite album and single, I find all his work awesome. But the Born to Run, Born to Run double is for me his most iconic work ... it's what really hooked me on Springsteen.

Manfred Mann also covered his Spirit in the Night.

IIRC that was about March 1985. Remember staying at my mate's place in West Brunswick, near Moonee Valley, and being out and about on the Friday night of one of the concerts, half whacked...

Favourite song would be Hungry Heart and album The River. Not a big fan. Blinded By The Light was a good example of his writing work as well, but Manfred Mann's Earth Band had the better recording of it.

Favourite song has to be I'm on Fire but its bloody hard to listen to when you're love life is a bit messed up

noteworthy: Glory Days, Dancing in the Dark, The River, Hungry Heart, Born in the USA, Human Touch, Philadelphia, Tunnel of Love album

No Surrender is a favourite of mine.

I seem to identify with the song.

"We learnt more from a 3 minute record than we ever learned in school"

My favourite album is Greetings from Asbury park, N.J.
Great album, all the songs go together really well. Spirit in the night is my favourite song from it.
Blinded by the light was the 1st song on it and was later covered.
Also there is a 2 DVD of film clips available which has been out for a while.
He had some good clips, My favourite being I'm on fire.

Nebraska is a very different type of album to most of Springsteen's stuff.
It's dark and maybe even a little haunting. I haven't played it for a long time mainly because I have it on vinyl however whenever I play it it gives me chills down the back kind of thing.
It's good when music can have an effect on you like that.

Thunder Road

Interestingly he said recently that he doubts he has ever written a better song than Thunder Road, but hopes that he has written some just as good!
