Bumping old threads

Generally, mods don't like people bumping really old threads without a particularly good reason. Most discussions benefit from a fresh look every so often, and anyway making people wade through pages of ancient posts before responding isn't very user-friendly.

Some mods are stricter than others. Generally forums with a history of posters trolling each other for stuff they've said in the past are not real keen to see threads bumped.

Caesar is on the money.

If you have something new to contribute to a topic, bump away. If the bump is just to say "yeah!, I agree", then that is not so good.

In late 2012 a Swans poster hit the main board and bumped more than half a dozen threads denigrating the then premiers to perhaps help educate the misiformed as to the error of their ways. Nothing new, just that the wheel had turned. They even discussed some of the threads with their alias.

That poster got a whacking.
